Seen a few deals on the Optoma X142 recently and have commented on them, but for under £600 this BenQ W1070 is generally regarded as the best projector. This is the best price I can find it for now, hoping it comes down this Friday further somewhere.

As I am on the lookout for a full 1080p projector I will add them to the list here if I think they represent good value, other options are:

Optoma X142 £399- Courtesy of Zuulan

ViewSonic PJD7720HD £359.17 (found by myself but not posted as separate deal)

not a 1080p projector, only 800x600 but still a great price.

Optoma S316 - £134.99

I should have said best projector for under £599

Are there any Led projectors in the sub £600 mark that are worth considering.. Obviously they are going to be DLP and lower lumens however this would eliminate the exploding bulb syndrome or failure below quoted hours I keep reading about on various makes.

Not that up on LED projectors if I am honest. But I have had a few DLP projectors and have never had any problems with the bulbs, generally they are very reliable. If you watched most projectors 2-3 hours per day they would last for around a decade or more before the bulb needed replacing. By that time I would be looking to upgrade anyway so kind of a non issue for most people replacing bulbs.

I've been interested in a projector for some time for movies and gaming...the one thing that bugs me though is that when i but a TV I look for high frame rates with good frame interpolation and motion handling...these things seem to be missing in projectors

Frame rates depend on what you are viewing on the projector/screen, most projectors are able to display more frame rates than TV's hence why they are able to play DLP 3D content. 120hz I believe. Motion handling on budget projectors can sometimes not be as good as a TV, however I have gamed on budget projectors and they perform well, the difference is quite small.

anyone looking for a projector screen, this is the best I could find for the price. Good reviews too:

Too expensive at this price. For the past 3 or 4 years Richer Sounds have this at £399. I'm sure you'll see it come down some more.
Its a good projector if if anyone wants to try it out. I've had an Optoma for 5yrs and just upgraded to an Epson 6700. Both bought from Richer Sounds who give great guarantees and service

TBH I thought this would have dropped in price a bit more however it is a fantastic budget projector. I have had mine 4 years and used it nearly everyday but then I paid this price back then...... now I am waiting for 4K projectors to drop in price a bit.

If your considering a projector then go for it, you wont be disappointed !!!

got a 720 BenQ and it's fantastic

Same here, amazing picture and still going strong

had mine for years now but with the wireless kit (wdp01) saves having two 15mtr cables going round the room.

Got mine on the mantel piece, wall opposite is about 12 feet away, 30 year old Sony amp is wired up, I get an image about 110 inches wide by about 60 inches deep.

Image is straight on the wall

War of the worlds on Blu ray sounds awesome

Same here. Got mine back in 2014 and it remains one of the most impressive purchases I ever made. We used it yesterday to watch Blue Planet II. It has many many years of life left in it.
