Excellent projector.

Please excuse my ignorance, but how 'may' it come with a longer warranty if signing up to their vip newsletter? Thx.

This is a great PJ, I owned one for almost 2 years, superb image for this price!

I was waiting for this or Optoma hd141x to come down in price. Now that it has come down in price there Optoma hd142x for £449. Can someone advise how benq compares with hd142x please. I dont have room size or walk size issue but I do want wireless connectivity. Thanks

Same here. Had this a couple of years now and I absolutely love this projector. Every time I watch a film on it I can't help smiling. Looks stunning at 120 inches.

Not sure whether to get this or the TH670? Seems like the extra £50 might be worth it?

I am a VIP member already but there is a charge for the 6 yr warantee. has anyone ordered one of these?

Is this projector watchable during day time?

You mean without pulling the black out blinds or curtains?

Had this projector for 3 years. It is one of the best purchases I have ever made. It thrills me nightly, the 3D impresses me more than RealD 3D at VUE and ODEON and 2D image quality is strong too. Don't think; BUY IT. Watch it.....You're welcome.

Hi guys, I've always fancied having a projector. Can I ask, my room is 12x12ft. Will a projector work in aroom this size, and can I connect it to my sky box. Cheers, Pat

Yep

I have this projecting to a 120inch screen. Its effin awesome.

I have a BenQ 720 and it's mint, paid £260 for it

projects straight onto the wall but you would need to shut the curtains.

Also, I have it wired up to my Amp and speakers cos otherwise, the sound is not up to much.

is the optima hd142x not a better projector for £60 more? and 3000 lumens ?

This one has a very loud built in speaker, and works well during the day

the HD142x is an excellent projector too. It may be worth going instore to ask for a demo of both and see which one you prefer

have a look at the videos on youtube of the hd142x,wow,and its brighter, and 24 fps gaming, think i'll get the optoma

I'm torn between this benq and the optoma HD142x.

Thoughts anyone?

OPTOMA HD28DSE looks even better but 200 more!

I would go for optoma HD142x, more lumens and better contract ratio!

Worth mentioning that the Optomas have lesser connectivity options than the Benq. Even the more expensive 151x has only 1 hdmi port.

No 6 year warranty and no lens shift was the reason I looked at the Viewsonic: hotukdeals.com/dea…957

This has 'lens shift' which the Optoma 141 doesn't

I was looking at this projector. But it doesn't have MHL connectivity whereas the cheaper HD142x does.

EDIT: actually just realised the the HD28 does.

Very good bang for buck especially at thus price although I hope no one would seriously consider using the built in speaker

Don't forget to check the throw ratio before choosing a projector. If you have a smaller room then the BenQ will fill better if you want a larger image.

If you want to project a 120" image you'll need a room thats at least 11' 4" with the benQ. The Optima needs a room 13' 6" to project the same 120" image.

Yes it does

had mine for 3 years just fitted a new bulb as the old one went bang, bought the wireless kit so no need for 2x15mtr leads anymore and yes it can be watched in the day or summer time with curtains blinds shut of course, warranty excludes the lamp. fan can be noisy on start up, but quitens after a few minutes.speaker is rubbish but mine is hooked up to 5.1 surround sound for tv and 3d film viewing.

I'm in the same boat, will pop to richersound store tomorrow to decide

Bbbking where did you get your bulb from I'm needing a new one for mine. I agree with everyone's thought. Got this model about 3 years ago and use it for everyday use on a 92" screen. Everything is better on a larger size screen.

Depends on the projector throw and the size of the screen. Use a projector throw calculator. http://www.projectorcentral.com/BenQ-W1070-projection-calculator.htm

If the room is small you will be sitting closer to the screen and if the screen is too big,it won't be comfortable to watch the whole screen. You will need some head movements to see the entire screen
