Ok, so just ordered this monitor for £430 last week and now it goes on sale for £327.... This has to be the cheapest 1440p 144hz monitor I've seen and I don't even know why its going for this. It is sold from amazon.es so I'm assuming its not a price error, but get it while it lasts.

I just gimped myself..... Its the GW2765HT, no idea why it showed the details and specs of the XL2730z

The link directs you to the GW2765HT, which is 60hz and doesn't have FreeSync.

I ordered this one for £430 and it seems to be great for the money. Got everything I need apart from IPS which woulda been ever better amazon.es/gp/…c=1 . If you got the budget I would say go for it, have a look at the reviews and stuff on youtube you'll get a good idea of it.

Anyways I'm pairing this with a Fury, so the AMD Freesync will give me an even better experience.

Thanks. Looks good. I've got a gtx980 so assume I need to look for equivalent in G-Synch ...just so many options..it was much easier the last time I went monitor shopping lol.

Adaptive sync isnt a must, you could still go for this monitor, cheapest Gsync 1440p 144hz monitor ive seen it this one going for £560 amazon.co.uk/Del…4hz.

At that price your better of selling your GTX 980, upgrading to a 1070 and getting this monitor here, those extra 20fps you will get from games will easily beat any Gsync you get outa that dell.

I've only got an i5 4690k with so have assumed I would need to wait till I upgrade that before moving up again..I only built it 18 months ago or so...

I have no idea what's happened to monitor prices since Brexit but they above any other computer part seem to have rocketed in price.

I sold a FHD 144hz 1080P that was 7 months old on eBay for PROFIT last month, I bought it in July for RRP and that Rep seems to now be £100 higher.

Same with my 1440p XF270HU, bought for £370 in October, now £450+

Not sure if it's brexit or a new wave of interest in demand driving prices, but I've noticed it.

it's all Brexit as the pound is very low and companies are having to maintain thier margins. A lot of tech should be falling in price that is maintaining its value whilst others like current gen monitor tech actually increases. **** idiots.

I've got gsync and I think it's better over the extra 20fps. Better keeping a 980 and getting a gsync monitor. Easier said that done now, as The_Hoff said, monitor prices have really rocketed in price. I was lucky to get my dell monitor before this weird price increase.
If you can, maybe worth waiting to see what AMD CPU's and GPU's bring to the table. Freesync and an AMD GPU is a far cheaper way to get adaptive sync, super smooth graphics for less.

What would you go for if you had a 980 and had to buy this week, please? Budget up to 4-500 quid.

To expire it go to edit post and set the expires date as yesterday. Boom.

Thanks for that site, Hitman. It's giving me either Acer Predator XB271HU, Asus Rog Swifts or BenQ XL2730Z...
Need to have a think..

27 inch AOC looks lovely..it's just if I can justify almost 600 hundred quid on a PC monitor..but when I factor in how much time I spend looking at it...

Edit - just seen it's got prominent red on the stand...can't have that, I'm an Evertonian..

If I factored the time I spent on my PC even 5k would be justifiable lol.

The red on the back of the screen? If the monitor was against a wall, no one would see. Or cover the colour.
