Yeah, let's throw an additional 50Watts of heating into the space …Yeah, let's throw an additional 50Watts of heating into the space requiring the air movement.

Stupid of them to make it run on electricity rather than magic.

Good as a use and throw fan. Flimsy and not great quality

Indeed, we can't expect a magical fan for just £14.99, such a device would cost about £350.

Decent fan for the price, was expecting it to be a throw away but for the money it's a steal
Always see them 300 quid dyson fans for sale as refurbs... so they must be equally as junk... but it must make you feel better knowing its expensive junk

Heat is measured in joules. Watts is power measured in j/s. Two different things.

Item has a sticker stating it uses 50Watts from mains. It converts that 50Watts to combination of energies, all of which revert to heat. Doesn't matter how it's phrased or how it's quantified, this device adds heat to a space where typically its intended use is to provide a cooling effect. Some peeps will find the cooling effect outweighs the additional heat load; most don't care how it's quantified.

Sure, but an important point is that sweat is evaporated and heat is carried away by the fan and this helps you feel cooler. 50W doesn't make a great deal of difference to overall enthalpy if you have a window or door open

Do you dare criticise the work of Saint Jimmy D? Inventor of the vacuum cleaner where all the dust blows in your face as you empty it? And the hygenic hand dryer where the water drips collect and fester in that little trough?

The fans are cheap at twice the price due to the amount of pixie dust contained, didn't you know?

not sure if all their hand dryers are the same but I used a dyson one, very unhygienic, not sure if it was the drip tray or your hands touched the sides... rubbish sprang to mind...
