I have the IKEA Poang with footstool and whilst it's extremely comfortable, the biggest issue was always going to be space. It's a large footprint and if (like me) you live in a city 3-bed terrace-size house, you'll always be in 2 minds as to whether you'd keep it.

Luckily my wife bought it for me as a present, so whilst she keeps thinking about getting rid of it, she can't

I got the chair and footstool as an alternative to a rocking chair for my nursery. They’re really comfortable and well made.
Thank you for the post! Got one ordered

My wife is rather large, would these chairs hold her weight?

I have the Ikea version and perhaps the width might be more of an issue than the weight - the arms are obviously wood and it wouldn't be comfy to have any part of the body resting on it. The Poang's weight limit is 26 stone apparently, although I imagine the Argos version is inferior.

Thanks for the reply, my wife is well under 26 stone.
I have the poang and footstool from Ikea and it’s comfy as hell. Use it all the time. If you don’t mind used check out Facebook marketplace they’re often listed in there for a song. I got mine with footstool for £20 in the specific colour I wanted, as new. Saved a bomb va buying the chair and the footstool from IKEA.
I don't seem to be able to reserve the chairs for pick up with the code. Is there a way round this?
Used to have one of these I bought from ALDI, really comfy chairs

Hey TeddyB, did you manage to get your issue sorted??

Reserved 2 of these and contacted customer service before collecting, agent confirmed we can use code in store and can be used on sale items and just told us it excludes baby/nursery furniture. We told the agent we are purchasing chairs and was told we can use the code for this.
Arrived at store and gave code to staff member at till, only to be advised the code is not working on this item. After she called support all she could advise was that the code won't work because the item is on sale.
So annoyed as I looked into this before making the journey but was given incorrect info and another thing is that this chair comes up in the list when you click on the promotional banner for FURN20.
Ended up buying one for £60 as desperately needed a chair whilst waiting for new sofas. The chair is nice looking, sturdy and comfortable. The fabric maybe is a bit hard like paper but personally it doesn't bother me. It was fairly quick and easy to put together and I enjoy rocking in it while writing this.
So has anyone actually been able to get 2 of these for £96?
Is it a good price for just 1? Or is the value only for 2?
Built this last night - quality seems decent, feels strong and it's pretty comfy. I paid the 60 for one, but pretty happy at that considering its for the stool too.

Hi SteTheDon,

Had I checked out, would have certainly been able to buy 2 chairs for £96.00 ( see above code applied) After reading your message, would recommend you complain to Argos directly. From what I can tell the discount should have been applied for you, given it worked on the website. Recommend buying through the Argos website to anyone
