Almost lowest price these boots have ever been.
Very good reviews from various sites and Amazon users.
I've ordered pair, not yet received so can't give my own opinion yet.

I always go to the 1 star reviews on Amazon, I think on what I'm reading I'll give these a miss. My current berghaus boots have been excellent, but I'm wary about some of the manufacturing and branding changes that've taken place in the last few years and I'll probably go for a different manufacturer which hasn't compromised its brand quality - probably cost more than this, but a better investment.
These used to be a decent maker of boots, but as above, changing where they are now manufactured has reduced their quality and durability.

If you want a well-engineered, quality leather confortable outdoor boot which hasn't yet suffered from the price increases associated with being a big well-known brand, I recommend checking out GriSport on Amazon. They're Italian made, and you can get decent models for ~£75. Well reviewed & reliable.
after my reply above I've just checked my previous berghaus boots, they are explorer trek ones, probably had them 5 or 6 years now, the current explorer trek boots on Amazon have the same issue, lots of folk saying the previous version was excellent but the new ones are poor in comparison.
All sounds a rather familiar story..

So guess they are no longer Brasher boots, sad..

Been looking for decent walking boots for a couple of weeks. Any Grisport model in particular you recommend and why would be appreciated.

Hi, ive got the Grisport Unisex Peaklander currently, after owning a pair of Grisport Timbers for 4 years. Both are rugged and waterproof, but I prefer overall the Peaklanders. They provide good ankle support as a slightly taller boot, the construction is really good quality thick smooth leather which cleans / polishes up easily, I've had zero water ingress (similar to the Timbers), and they're suitable for hiking almost straight out of the box - minimal breaking in period. Hope this helps! Oh, and also they've a good rolling gait when you walk, and are nicely cushioned around the ankle.

Many thanks. Add them to my list for further research. How are they on sizing - same size as normal footwear, size larger as walking boot etc?
You're welcome! They run true to normal shoe size, in the two pairs I've tried. Hope you get on well with them, if you decide to go for a pair.
