Really like this jacket but it's so thin I just know I'll rip it on something in the first week

And Berghaus will repair it for free

Had mine for a few years. It’s a lovely jacket. Two niggles: one is that on mine the down seems to leak out onto what I’m wearing in beneath it. I often wear a black merino v neck and the white feather tufts show up on that. We’re not talking masses of feathers, just enough to notice. The other is the stretch sides. They give the jacket a great shape but on very cold, windy days you can feel the weather through the sides. Neither is a deal breaker, and I think this is still decent value for the price.

Yes really well put. You can feel a chill down the sides... If you feel the cold easily this could make it a very bad choice, if (like me) you sweat easily(!) the extra ventilation makes this coat absolutely perfect.

After reading a lot of confusion about sizing I've ended up ordering a M and a L and will just return one. (edited)

    This is the way.

Probably very very stupid question - down treated with 'nikwax', would this be any good for someone with a feather allergy??
    Avatar
If they have a feather allergy then I would say no. Obviously. Don't think the coating would make any difference

    Basically...if you're an M go for an L.
    It will work out.
    XXL sizes are designed differently.
They will keep their shape and be fine for that person.
Smaller sizes differ on the spectrum.
If you order a M and you are a M and it is not what you expected then you should have sized up.
    I'm a M but also 5ft 10, 83kgs.
    I'm borderline Large.
I'd go for the large unless you want skin tight fit.
Most people do for the fashion but you'll only get a T shirt underneath it.
I tried one on in a shop and I'm definitely a large. Upsettingly (edited)

Do these have inside pocket? Looking through the description I see no mention
    Avatar
Yes, one inner pocket on the left hand side, zipped one you access sideways rather than from above if you know what I mean (edited)

    This any good?

I bought mine last week and honestly I love it. Initially wasn't sure about the 'thin fleece' bit down the edges, but actually they make y really versatile.

It's far and away the most comfortable coat I've owned... I keep forgetting to take it off when I get home it's so comfortable!

Worth the money in my opinion, be aware it's is a lightweight one, so may well need layers underneath, but for the thickness and weight it's very warm indeed.

More like a hybrid jacket, not a fan of the material under the arms and down the sides. I prefer the full jacket to be made from the same material (if ye get me)
    Avatar
It is to make it breathable, so you don't sweat. Saying this, my GREY jacket is like this, and I don't like it. It gets wet, and you get cold on the sides. Good idea, but not for me.

Size up guys . If your a xxl normally. 100% go for the triple XXXL . It’s a very small fitting jacket

    Still £87.98 in XS S M L 3XL (edited)
  12. Avatar
Great deal when compared to the recent hybrid deal that has uninsulated arms and hood.
  13. Avatar
You will need to size up 1. I'm a medium normally but needed a large.
    Avatar

Not necessarily, I am normally a large and I went XL and it was too big. Hence why I was waiting for this deal to come round again so I could bag a large
  14. Avatar
    XXL now OOS
  15. Avatar
Love mine had it for a few years now. They are quite fitted thou. I'm a small and ordered small bit I like that type of fit
  16. Avatar
I didn't need one size up, I'm XXL and it fits me quite snugly but that's the design. It's designed to trap heat from your body. If you have it baggy then it won't be as warm or fit as well under a shell layer like gore tex
  17. Avatar
Model in the picture is wearing a M and 6 2". So size will come down to how slim you are.

    Can this resist light rain?

Just received an update on my order saying it will be delivered tomorrow, so the 2/4 week delivery time estimate is a bit out!
  20. Avatar
Expired. For size L price is £124.85 for me. Regardless, I'd go with a Rab down jacket personally.
  21. Avatar
Anyone recommend the red one of these? I really fancy a red one.
  22. Avatar
    Pity about the side panels

Got a CK one from that golf place, which is really warm. But want a more fitted style like this.

Anyone recommend a similar cut model without the cloth panels? Might put it on watch for sales in spring.
  23. Avatar
£87.98 is for size S only now. Might want to update.
  24. Avatar
Ensure you select the Amazon seller for deal price . Because of the delivery time being more than a month apparently seller is getting swapped for a higher price jacket
  25. Avatar
Is this better than the RAB Cirrus?
  26. Avatar
Price went back up now thanks I've ordered a black (L) as my son's normally a (M)
  27. Avatar
    £119 is the price
