Thanks OP. Savings wise its a good deal.

I have seen loads of comment on similar type of jackets about them not having any insulation down the sides. This may be to allow to "breathability" but people have said it means those type of jackets don't keep you warm.

Would be good to see some comments from the HUKD community about their thoughts on this.

I have had this jacket for 3 years and still looks and feels like new. The odd feather has popped out but nothing major. The fit is superb as I went large (I am 6ft 2 and slim build) and the arms are nice and long. The breathable bits down the side seem to allow heat out, and can only feel a slight draft through them in high winds. It's great for an all day walk as once you warm up it doesn't allow you to get too hot. I have never been too cold but wouldn't wear under about 4 degrees unless I have a fleece underneath. It is quite lightweight too and doesn't do great in rain. I still love mine and will be getting another when this wears out. Hope this helps someone.

Been a Berghaus fan boy a long time, so my bais will show .That's 'Carbon in the picture posted by the OP FYI.
Bought this jacket at XL size, colour Carbon at £87 was too tight so returned and meanwhile price of an XXL Carbon ,in just days, had increased to about £119 , so I bought the cheaper Black XXL at £104, next day Carbon XXL dropped back to £87 . Just returned the Black and Carbon XXL arrives today .The prices changes I suspect reflect daily availability .
I'm a big built lad 6'4" and 18 stone so here's what I learnt : if you're tall and want this as an outer layer with a mid layer XXL is the way to go. If you're a slim build and just want a tee-shirt or base layer below, XL will do the job.
Things that I noted: nice tight fit on hood (good under a lid) , was good on 'reach test' hardly any riding up , packed really small and carbon colour was pleasant to the eye. Not yet 'field tested' , however indoors great for arm chair climbers with the heating off Thanks OP for the post.

This is a great quality jacket got it myself a couple of weeks back. 2 things you need to be aware of though. It's a different material on the sides that isn't waterproof and secondly it's a very slim fit, so if your carrying a bit of timber you for sure need to up a size!

The main farbic isn't waterproof either

FYI, unless I'm missing something (postage?) it seems to be a few quid cheaper at GoOutdoors: outdoorgb.com/p/B…wcB

    From Berghaus' website:
Designed especially for the cold weather it’s also packed with Hydrodown® 600 fill power to keep you insulated even in wet conditions. You can trap more heat with a warm stretch hood, while air can flow freely thanks to stretch fleece side panels, to enhance ventilation and reduce bulk. As for those walking essentials, they’re safe in zip pockets.

Ordered this jacket when it was £87.98. Got to say, after having it for a couple of weeks I totally love it. I did have to order a size up as it’s very tight fitting.

People saving about not keeping you warm down the sides - well that’s the point of the fleece parts is to help ventilate your body’s heat. Your body creates a load of heat under your armpits, hence why some shell jackets have pit zips. I use this jacket for walking and hiking and for someone who generates a lot of body heat this has been great.

    Some other points:
It had a handy zipped inside pocket
The other 2 hand pockets are quite deep
The hood is elasticated so it helps keep the hood on your head in windy weather

I have a Rab Cirrus jacket and prefer this one to that

Mines warm but I only use it for popping out. It's not a go to outdoor walking jacket.

It's for Out not Out Out. (edited)

It's a great jacket for wearing on top of a sweater or hoodie on cold days. Probably good down to about 5 degrees

Does it leak feathers as other reviewers have stated?

I bought it a few weeks back when it got hot on here (nelly), not suitable for really cold days but super comfy and a good jacket

I had the same problem when this was on offer last time. This time round it said early March delivery, but just got the notification it's being delivered today.

Had a few weeks. Great fit and warm enough for a cool day. I managed to get the right pocket zip caught in fabric and then the zip split. Google suggested running a pencil up/down as graphite is a lubricant. Managed to work the material out and get zip working. Got 2 cheapo primark jackets and never had a problem so I'm a bit wary now

I ordered the 3xl carbon. Last one available at £82. Just arrived today but too big. Going to have to return it. As the 2xl is much more expensive, I'll be getting a refund. Anyone in the market for a 3Xl keep an eye out in about a weeks time, I'll be returning it tomorrow and it'll no doubt be back up for sale soon
