Have been looking for a basic lightweight raincoat just in time for the wet weather, and found this decent jacket. Not very breathable but ticks all other boxes for me.

Under £50 from Amazon is pretty good. Usually around £65 - £85

Thanks for posting - just what Im looking for

Sweat like a pan of chip's in this.

I currently have a Hely Hanson Belfast jacket for winter. But its 3 years old and had alot of use so looks a bit tatty. Can anyone recommend and windproof waterproof and warm jacket please. Not looking at spending more than 60/65.

I have one of these, the seams leak like a sieve, and after a few mins the material itself leaks, i wouldn't recommend.

Regularly posted, usually less than this price.

If you want a decent waterproof coat it's got to be GoreTex.

Reviews suggest is a summer jacket. Not breathable. Would buy with caution.

From Blacks, unlikely.

Looks nice

If this doesn't tick people's boxes, don't forget about the regatta outlet store. Just bought a jacket from there, amongst a few others and it's awesome. Men's cross peninsula :-)

Cross penine*

Here is a TNF alternative that is worth considering. £15 more but might be worth it. amazon.co.uk/Nor…c=1

Purchased this jacket last year as a lightweight summer rain jacket but it's totally useless.
Even when wearing when not too hot you still sweat badly in it so it's not breathable as advertised at all.
As for keeping out the rain it's ok only for showers.

Tog24 is where I've got my last few winter jackets from (outlet stores). They're generally pretty good value, very breathable, warm, wind proof, waterproof etc. Prior to them I'd had North Face & Berghaus. I still tend to go with Berghaus jackets as they seem ok, but as others have mentioned they're not breathable, but are light, fairly wind resistant and stay dry even when it's belting down with rain.

I've had 2 Berghaus jackets, each of them lasting 3+ years. Only changed to a different colour though. When it first arrives it looks like you've been robbed on a windproof jacket, but once worn you'll notice its surprisingly warm and waterproof. Goes well with trousers or jeans. Only thing i would say is to attach the velcro fastens when washing to stop it sticking to her indoors nickers.

Brilliant jacket, I have 2 of them and both are a couple of years old and still waterproof but theyre not breathable whatsoever. Think i lost 2 stone in fluids when i done a bike ride in one, Ive since discovered pit zips which i think are essential if you do any type of fast paced walking/cycling, but for general use they should be fine

Need goretex or something similar if you are active in this jacket.
