:-D very good

"One of the biggest ongoing surveys of consumer confidence yesterday revealed that Bernard Matthews was now the least respected and trusted brand in Britain."

telegraph.co.uk/new…xml

this is spectacular..........its so bad, they cant give it away lol

:giggle: :giggle:

I wondered how long it would take for them to cut their prices

Morrisons have the Turkey and Chicken slices piled up with Buy one Get One Free since Friday and no one is buying, Ive not eaten chicken for over a year and half now since I got salmonella from a undercooked chicken burger and I dont really miss it now (chicken that is), certainly wouldnt like salmonella again :x

I would have thought it'd be buy one and get everyother one in the UK free.

Home Office Accidentally Release Bird Flu 'How To Panic' Memo
Story of the week
The Home Office has accidentally released a memo telling the public the best ways to panic during this moment of bird flu hysteria.

The email, apparently signed by John Reid, includes the following advice:

1) Jump up and down and wave your arms about

2) Take all your clothes off and wear a brown paper bag on your head.

3) Run away screaming when anybody mentions any of the following terms in normal everyday conversation: Turkey, chicken, giblets and eggs.

The Home Office, once again, have won Stupid ******s Of The Week.

are you takin the p**s

I just cannot help thinking that Jamie Oliver has a wry smile on his face when this story broke.

Arnt they investigating wether some birds were moved days before the flu was identified.

Turkey twizzlers are perfectly safe...you didn't think they contained any meat did you???

Ha Ha! this is the funniest and wittiest set of comments I've ever seen on HotUkdeals, nothing to do with the offer, but who cares - This one could run for months - keep em coming..

woot I love turkey, got some turkey brests in the freezer as it is. And as you guys should be aware you cant catch the brid flu if you cook the meat properly, thats sayign that there is even trace of it in the food.

That said, if someone gave you some Turkey that you were told was definately infected, would you eat it.

I don't think I will be buying any Bernard Matthews products again, and I don't think I am alone on this.

I do feel very sorry for the company but I can't see that they can survive this.

Cant believe people are even bothering to argue that if the meat is fully cooked you cant catch a thing....is it really worth taking the risk?? would you feed it to your children???

I dont think the economy is so bad that our meals are dictated to us by the price on which they are on offer at supermarkets!! not just yet anyway

does anyone know how long you can keep a chicken in the freezer

Yes but a bit off topic, who do we trust? Who say's you cant catch it from well cooked turkey.

would that be the same people who said beef was safe?

So who is having Turkey next Christmas.

My mum used to say that you can keep chicken for 3 months in a freezer. Don't know how accurate that is but I have not poisoned myself yet!

The cure?

I wouldnt worry about it - if you knew half the things that went on with food, you'd never eat anything !!

Just eat what you want & enjoy it

Thanks for the welcome. To be truthful I'm on the verge of being offended. You post a genuine gourmet bargain and all you get is sarcasm. I don't know.

When people say " if the meat is fully cooked you cant catch a thing" what they should remember in some cases the meat is actually raw when you buy it and by coming into contact with it is the danger (If this is to be proved yet).
