Vista is one of the worst OS released by Microsoft. And already Windows 7 is rated very good....

And if you are not aware - If you have purchased Vista after 26th June 2009, you are eligible for free upgrade to 7

I like Vista.
I am using Windows 7 release candidate at the moment though and yes it is more efficient then Vista but it just seems to me to have that unfinished feel about it in places.

Not worth paying out for it if you have vista as a lot of the enhancements will be filtered down to vista by windows update

....... If you have a good spec PC you won't even notice the difference between Win7 and Vista.

On a lower spec system, then yes, Win7 is better because it's 'lighter'. But really, Vista isn't actually that bad. Too much hate.

21 days for delivery....sounds a bit sus really.....dont trust this site...

Best deal at the moment is Tesco Direct. There is a voucher for £5 off £50 + clubcard points + quidco. Price before discounts is £58.94, so works out ~ £51. Free delivery to store.

They've just sent out the clubcard vouchers too, so I've just used these too against the order.

I've recently upgraded to 7 and after using Vista since it's release I can safely say that 7 is much better.

They are fine. I have orderd from them before and got a legit copy of Office 2007, came in about 7 days .
Software4Students is still the best deal even with the TESCO £51 price, as they offer a better version of Windows 7 and free delivery to your house!!

I upgraded from Vista 32 bit to Windows 7 64 bit and regret it There are no drivers available for my scanner, printer software won't install and monitor graphics I can't get right for me.

Here is a true feedback

I bought my dell studio with vista 64 bit on 3rd June this year. Most unlucky fellow in the world :?
Had enough with Vista already

They are offering free upgrade for those who bought vista after 26th June :?:?

Very little, the biggest change for me is that you can now automatically resize individual windows to half the screen width rather than having to do it with a pair - which isn't worth shelling out £50 for.

Vista is one of the best OSs released by Microsoft. They did get a couple of things wrong like the hardware requirements and long startup times but the stability is just amazing. I've been running it for a year now and it's as good as new - something you couldn't have said about a lot of XP installs two and a half years after release.

Typical Microsoft - Win 7 out less than a week and already a widely published hack to install upgrade rather than full version on a empty hard drive or XP machine. Suppose this makes the upgrade version an even better deal.;-)

I've just installed W7 Ultimate 32 bit and there wasn't a driver available for my scanner but the Vista 32 bit driver [which I had to reinstall] worked for me.

voted cold as its obviously not the best deal.

The upgrade disk can also be used to perform a clean install, meaning you dont need to isnert orignial OS disk that you are upgrading from to validate the install... but, ahem, you must have a licensed qualifying product....:whistling:

Sorry.. didnt notice 2nd page of posts before posting this...

Even M$ admitted it was a failure, XP end of life was put back, OEM computer makers were allowed to provide XP again, rather than only Vista... were these not tell tale signs for a poor product??? Look at vista as like the win7 prototype...

i liked vista and diid my Microsoft exam in it, but have to say win7 breathed new life to my ageing laptop and works great for the cash why not upgrade!
