Available for £105 using the £5 voucher here today.
cnet describe a $100 price as 'best tablet deal in history'. With VAT added here it pretty much applies to the UK too.

A fast FHD 10" tablet.
cnet.com/new…ry/

This was hot a month ago at £140 and again 3 weeks ago at £140. This is the lowest ever price. Claim is correct.

'The Fire HD 10 has compromises, but definitely feels like it should cost more than $150. On a pure price-to-value level, it's hard to imagine a better big-screen tablet deal right now. '

CNET deal must be $100 USD inclusive of tax I take it, which is about £76

So not the best deal in history then

I just can't help feeling the deal title has made this go cold. Maybe just stick to the facts?

Nope. Everthing converts 1 for 1. So should be £100!

The claim much goes back to the full price of $150.

'The Bottom Line: It's missing a few key apps and features, but with a lower price, faster processor, more storage and new Alexa features, the Amazon Fire HD 10 is an amazing value for a high-gloss media tablet.'

IPhone X should be £750 too! The title certainly comes from that best selling book 'bait for dummies'.

The issue is though with a poor camera, the OS is Amazon's own which overall has been rated poorly (hence why so many people root them) and its plastic-y... There were much better tablet deals than this including the Galaxy Tab A Samsung 10.1 inch which can be upgraded to the lastest android that sold for £149.... The amazon fire whilst it has a pretty decent screen and HD just doesnt compare to samsungs etc p.s. I am also not a TROLL!

If you put Google Play store on it, it would be a great tablet, without the Playstore youve only got about 20% of the apps available on the amazon app store.

8" seems to be the optimum size though.

On the flip side if youre interested in buying the amazon show youd be nuts to buy it over this tablet with a stand.

Tab A screen is a good bit below average for a FHD. I admit to that. I did take one photo with the Tab once and it was fine.

I bought one of these last week to replace my Echo Dot in the kitchen, as it has Alexa hands-free and thought it would be better value than the Echo Show. Its a nice tablet with a nice screen, but feels bulky and plastic. Alexa hands-free works to play music, tell the time and tell the weather etc but it needs to be unlocked to turn smart things off and on, like lights.

My biggest issue with it though was the speakers, they are awful. Passible if you are watching Netflix I guess but as a replacement for a Dot, the sound quality was appalling. I have now gone back to using a Dot in the kitchen, but now this tab is destined to collect dust as it as not as handy as my 8" Sony tablet and if I want to use a bigger screen, I prefer my laptop for the tasks I want a 10"-14" screen for, and it sorely lacks a built-in kickstand which I think should be standard on a device this size.

Overall I'd say its... ok. But you are much better off getting the 8" version for less than half the price (currently £49.99, or £44.99 after the Argos voucher)
Edited by: "m.ad" 28th Nov

The tab A and E are poor, flogged my Tab E last week and got an HD8 the camera is poor on all of them to be fair

The 10 inch has better ram/CPU/screen and Alexa features. So it's still good value.
However they could pull the Google play workaround at any time which would concern me.
Other than that it's a very capable bit of hardware.

I purchased the newer 7" version and am amazed at how well it ran and how capable it was. Also it's cute!.

Thanks for posting - cracking deal
Voted hot as it's the best price available. Already went for amazon's black friday offer at £110 otherwise I'd have gone for this. Yet another deal scuppered by cold votes due to personal preference

10" tablets are PC replacements.

I suppose I could get by with 8" but using a 720p screen would feel like going back in time.
I am not fussed on Android 7, Google adding more resource hogs.

The reason the Fire 8 runs well on a very low spec is the lack of Google Ram hogging services.

my mssus has the lenovo tablet, a couple of years old and is starting to slow down, really, she uses it for browsing and for word documents etc and viewing photos on the sd card. I was looking at the samsung for her as she has the S7 phone. Havent seen one of these in the flesh so to speak so is it too big and feels like a chunk of plastic?

Near 10mm thickness makes it fat these days !!!!

Thats a 'review' fact. You also need a 'Faraday cage like' metal casing rather than functional plastic these days. Another 'review fact' we all mainly follow.

What's the screen size of your current Lenovo tablet? I'd recommend this if you want tablet with a metal casing. Click

does this have any better screen? The current Fire HD8 has really poor screen, mediocre resolution, a bit washed out colors and super reflective screen (had problem watching a video indoors when there was a lot of light comming in from outside), but probably the best what you can get in the UK for 45-50 quid

That's a good tab, should be quite speedy unless you have the 1GB RAM version. Best check what you have installed, and shut down the unnecessary apps.
Edited by: "win26" 28th Nov

The pixel resolution of the Samsung tab and the Fire HD is about the same.

It just comes down to whether you want to go for Amazon fire OS or an Android.

Looking at other specs there really isn't much between the two aside from the OS.

Note that you also have to pay an extra £10 to remove Amazons horrendous 'Special Offers'

Yes, just read the reviews at Amazon. There are about 10 new ones per day due to the £110 deal. The contrast ratio is far better than on my 10.1 Tab A which has an 'OK screen'.

Best tablet deal in history to
COLDEST DEAL IN HISTORY

For me personally, i had an interest in the 7" Amazon fire however i was put off when my mother in law bought one for the kids. The kids hated it, couldnt access alot of apps on it and even with google play installed they had difficulty. My husband was going to remove the OS and put an android version on there but it just wasnt worth the time. In the end both tablets ended up going back and they bought Samsungs. Unsure of which ones they purchased but the kids loved them. I have had my eye on a tablet for a while and thought with black friday id go for it. My husband being a software developer checked out a few including the amazon fire HD and we decided to go for android. I did have my eye on the Acer 10.1 from Argos it was only purely because the Samsung Tab A came up in the black friday deal for £149 with a better core processor that i went for that. In regards to the amazon, they felt chunky, plasticy and just didnt do the job for which we needed it. Now thats not saying its an awful tablet, but in general if you wanted a browsing tablet and one to watch films then i would avoid it but if you like the adverts and the amazon product such as their streaming service then maybe the Fire HD would work. For me personally, using apps like facebook, snapchat, whatsapp etc, i prefered to go android. Its a system im familiar with and im a sucker for a samsung! And not because the apples are so expensive, i have vague memories of attempting to use the macs in college (Media Studies) and hating the interface... When looking to purchase new phones ive tried to use my friends iphones but hated it... So im a total android whore lol
