As we can paddleboard again from Wednesday, it's something Ive been considering as I've done it a few times but never actually splashed out on purchasing one. So, I've been looking for a decent but affordable one and this Bestway Hydro-Force Inflatable SUP has excellent reviews (there are slightly cheaper ones I've seen, but on the whole, the reviews for these ones vary from 'awful' to 'average').
Amazon themselves have this at a very good £203 if you prefer, but elsewhere this seems to be around £270 and up to £400.
  • 6 INCH THICK - Premium 6 inch thick paddle board to help maintain shape and for increased buoyancy on the water
  • DROP STITCH MATERIAL - Designed with drop stitch material for strong rigidity and durability
  • NON SLIP PAD - Inflatable board with non-slip traction pad provides a solid and stable foundation for comfort and steadiness
  • TRAVEL BAG & CARRY HANDLE - Travel bag included to transport your SUP and convenient deck handle to easily carry the SUP
  • QUICK INFLATION - Board can inflate in 10-12 minutes using the hand pump provided and deflate in less
  • CONTENTS - Paddle board, paddle, hand pump, travel bag, surf leash, repair kit - Dimensions: 274 cm x 76 cm
3462154.jpgIntroducing the Hydro-Force Aqua Journey Paddle Board Inflatable paddle boards are great for beginners or those looking to relax on the water, with inflatables board generally thicker and more stable than hard boards.

The Aqua Journey comes equipped with a quality, durable paddle and includes everything you need to get going in the water, including a hand pump.

Still a pandemic dude
Paddleboarding allowed from tomorrow!
£203 if bought from Amazon, would rather pay the small extra for easier returns. Also this is prob going to be more suited to smaller adult, doesn't look the largest

"Following government advice, angling and canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding for exercise, can resume from Wednesday 13 May, but this must be on your own or with members of your household, and shouldn’t be for long distances as navigation is still restricted. In all instances, social distancing must be maintained at all times, keeping your distance from both other people and moored boats."

I already mentioned that in the OP @w0nky

Yes because our govt are herding again. These excersizes will cause people to take advantage causing a re outbreak and great strain to the nhs . Already a massive spike today after last weekends ‘everyone let’s go out’ for sunny weather .

Whoops my bad. What did it research day about size, is love to pick one of these up but at 6ft I think I need a larger board
These are great for playing on, more suited to kids/small adults. If you enjoy it and decide to get a 'proper' board, give these guys a shout, they design and produce their boards in the UK and it's quality stuff. No affiliation, just a past customer.

"SUP Paddle Length. The general convention for determining the correct paddle size is to take the rider's height and add 9-10 inches. If you're 5'11” ideally you should get a paddle about 80-81 inches, or 6 feet 8 or 9 inches."
As this is 9ft long I would imagine this is OK for someone of 6ft. The width is 30 inches, ans advice on that is:-
"Most paddle boards (inflatable SUPs and hard paddle boards) will have a width between 32 and 34 inches. For beginners, stay within the 32-34 range. For advanced paddlers, you can drop to the 30 -32-inch range."
So length wise, it seems fine, width wise, it's 2 inches under. But it's all swings and roundabouts when looking at the prices too. If you've paddle boarded before though this probably will be OK. No harm in falling off a few times either whilst you get used to your board.
Narrow and short so might not be the most stable for river/lake/touring type use but 6 inch thickness at max inflation pressure would take a couple of kids messing around and maintain buoyancy with a pretty heavy adult. Looks like a great deal if u want a lower end paddle board that you can mess around with on the beach without being too precious.

Let us know what you decide you think we should do and we will go along with that.
There was no spike and you can't have a re outbreak til the first has finished, and it hasn't. If you don't understand how to social distance then correct you should stay in.
Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

Not sure how much more socially distanced u want than literally paddling out to sea?
At only 9 foot it’s not going to be the most stable especially for a taller and/or heavier adult. It certainly wouldn’t be long enough for me at 6 foot and weighing 13 stone.
Yes watersports seem a fantastic idead during a global pandemic. Putting extra pressure on first responders when you get into difficulty is totally not selfish.

I would imagine anyone who uses a Paddle Board is a pretty good to excellent swimmer. If you've ever been Paddle Boarding I think you'd appreciate / understand that. It's almost impossible to get into 'difficulty' using one of these, unless you are stupid, in which case you'd get into trouble crossing the road. Besides, I'd rather take my chances out on the open water than on the streets at present.
Do these double up as a surfboard if you ditch the paddle?

Best avoid the kitchen then if you're that accident prone. Or just stay in bed - but be careful not to fall out.

This model no, but there's are other models that cater for both (but then they're not very stable as a paddle board either).

To echo comments above, would avoid this unless you're either small or light and go for a longer and/or wider model if you're a beginner (we went for 12ft). I would advise looking at the second hand market too for this kind of thing to pick up a better spec board, which usually means better spec pump and paddle too, which will make a big difference to your experience in the water and getting it there.
If you are 6ft or bigger then I would suggest you go for a 10ft board or bigger. The norm is 10'6".

I think if you're asking that you probably shouldn't.
The ocean, even shallow river water, can give a false sense of security to some.
Please be careful, learn to surf and understand water safety with accredited Surf Schools.
Woah. 9ft? Not a deal it’s child sized
