Betron probably doesn't make any of these. They just rebrand various 'phones from chinese manufacturers, which would explain the vast range and differences of models.

There are a lot of great 'phones though and for the price I've found that anything from Betron is decent enough.

British design I did read.
I bought two of their nr200 bluetooth speakers over Christmas....surprisingly brilliant for the money, one was £14 and one was £10.

Think I'll buy a pair of these..Thanks OP.

I bought some 'highly recommend' Betron earphones in the past. I couldn't believe how mediocre and poor sounding they.

Edit: They were the Betron RK300s purchased from Amazon. About £14 at the time.

The Xiaomi Hybrids and Piston 3s, whilst far from perfect, were much better quality in terms of sound and build.

Not if they sound terrible in the first place. The problem with alot of these cheapo earphones is that too many people 'review' them without really knowing what good earphones are supposed to sound like. There are also alot of review sites setup for the sole purpose of creating monetised affiliate links so hardly a reliable source.
I bought a pair of these a few months ago and I’m very pleased indeed with them. I use to use sennheiser cx300 but opted for these at half the price. Sometimes you just have to take a punt to see what else is out there & this punt paid off.

For the price though they're usually fine for most users though who are going to be playing low quality spotify streams on their smartphones. Usually better than what you pick up from Argos, Currys or ASDA for a similar price.

I've lost count of the number of these sort of earphones I've bought over the years. Most of the similarly priced earphones from Asda etc are junk - yes, a sound comes out of them but in reality, you're just paying for the retailer's big profit margin on them. Using them to play Spotify streams isn't really a justification - poor earphones make even Spotify streams sound even worse compared to better earphones.

Unless genuinely better earphones are available at the same/similar price.... What's the issue?

You can definitely go wrong, even for £6.

You may have had bad luck, we have had loads of these and not had an issue with the sound, just as good as the big names you would spend more money on but of course if you are after top of the range quality or one of those people who go in about the variation of sound then these aren’t for you.

The point I'm trying to make is that, most people aren't honestly going to notice or even care.

The people who are going to care are probably not even looking at these anyway, there's plenty of resources online for people who care about the quality of their 'phones to use to find something.

They definitely will care - the difference in sound quality between a good pair of £10 earphones and rubbish pair of £10 earphones is like night and day.

The problem is that there are so many earphones in this segment now - particularly the rebranded generic Chinese ones - it's increasingly difficult to sort the wheat from the chaff.

The other thing to note is that even with earphones that you would put into the 'good' or 'acceptable' category, they ALL sound different. Some will suit some listeners and some types of musics, whilst others won't.

There probably are, can't categorically say for sure though without actually using these but there's things like Xiaomi Piston uk.gearbest.com/ear…=25 and a range of 'phones by Knowledge Zenith like the KZ-ATE gearbest.com/ear…=21 but shipped from within the UK, then no.
