New season next week folks

Thanks for the heads up. I found the last season a bit disappointing in comparison to the rest, but I'll probably still check this out.

Yes, really got into this and stopped watching BB halfway through to binge on it.
Terrific acting, writing and great characters.
Much better than Breaking Bad
Breaking Bad was very well made but this has got much better written characters.
I thought the first season was ridiculously boring, I'm guessing it improves? I keep hearing great things...

It does improve, but if you don't like the first season you probably won't like the rest. It's similar throughout, but builds on each of it's characters and their relationships with each other.

Give it another shot if you've nothing else you want to watch but I wouldn't force yourself to if you weren't keen. I found Season 1 kinds boring too initially but I watched it again and it does grow on you.

I just didn't like any of the characters. I like a slow-burner, I thought BB was fantastic, but I just felt this was a cash cow for fans of BB. There didn't feel like any passion towards it from a writing perspective.

N.B. No spoilers here, let's keep it that way

Did you think BB was fantastic when you watch the first season though? I didn't. I forced myself through it for a while to be honest (same with Game of Thrones lol) but I grew to love BB and appreciate the slow build up.

BCS is more about the relationships (with his brother, between the partners, Kim etc). I enjoyed season 1 and 2, and season 3 really gripped me, but season 4 lost my interest a little. It was just a little stale feeling. I could tell it was the same story and stuff it just lacked something, which was disappointing. A colleague felt the same way.

With regard to disliking the characters, this may change as you progress through the series

I bought the first season on Amazon UK for £3 before it aired in the UK. I think it was a post on here, actually, when nobody watched it and it had potential to get binned by the network. I thought it was excellent, I could already feel the beginnings of a really complex story. I thought the casting was brilliant, but honestly, it was Brian Cranston that sold it for me, he was just incredible.

I think that's maybe what's missing for me, that drive behind the whole story. I might give it another go.

Thanks for your input

I watched the entire thing in about 2013, or I started BB then I think. I worked abroad and bought a Samsung tablet for my digital downloads of it. Cranston is brilliant.

The problem is that BB is a low burn with a few sparks and pops as it goes along and then a pretty explosive last season. Then BCS starts at the beginning again, slowly, introducing characters. And as I may have touched on before, I think BCS is more about the relationships between each character. BB develops the characters, more specifically Walt and Skylar, independently. BCS is more about how their attitudes to each other change. I can't talk about what happens, but I feel like skip a bit much in season 4 and missed some opportunities.

To be honest there's some bits I find hilarious in BCS. The opening scene in S1 where he defends those young lads is really fun. He passionately pleas to the jury and then the final shift when the prosecution produce their evidence is so dark it's funny.. there's another few too. He's a great actor, so are Kim and the other two lawyers (Chuck and the other).

I might watch S3 and S4 again in time for S5. Man I'm tired, sorry for the ramble. I just don't want to overhype it so I'm trying to inform you in an unbiased way whether it's worth sticking through it haha

Utilising a Blu Ray disc for this purpose will result in poor suction, nobody wants that even at this price.
