Even i managed with these - so i agree, really easy and nice too

These mixes are terrible, even when double greasing the pan it still sticks. Useless product.

sorry to hear you had bother with it - i am a crap cook usually as i get bored with fiddly stuff - but i got this to work ok for me - not sure what i did right ?!?!

Isn't it going to be about 10p of flour and some cheap powdered egg though? You could knock it up yourself for less and about 2 mins of your time

Never had this problem when i used these mixes in the past, heat added

These are very easy to use and don't taste half bad either. However - I had an accident with the lid flying off and I unded up covered in the stuff and messing up half the kitchen. When my wife saw me she thought I had the biggest orgasm ever...

I need to get me some of this. Forgot to buy any on pancake day so went without.Thanks.

the Asda Smartprice batter mix is only 7p & it makes just as many pancakes as these & just as tasty. So sorry but it's cold from me!

Unless you're desperate for these, it'll probably be worth waiting. I remember that last year these ended up being about 5p in a few places.

used a couple of these on pancake day, they were tasty and easy to use. If anyone has a sticking problem I would suggest it was more pan than mix as I had no problem at all with my teflon pan and I am no great shakes in the kitchen.

Ingredients

For the pancake mixture

*

110g/4oz plain flour, sifted
*

pinch of salt
*

2 eggs
*

200ml/7fl oz milk mixed with 75ml/3fl oz water
*

50g/2oz butter

To serve

*

caster sugar
*

lemon juice
*

lemon wedges

Preparation method

1.

Sift the flour and salt into a large mixing bowl with a sieve held high above the bowl so the flour gets an airing. Now make a well in the centre of the flour and break the eggs into it. Then begin whisking the eggs - any sort of whisk or even a fork will do - incorporating any bits of flour from around the edge of the bowl as you do so.
2.

Next gradually add small quantities of the milk and water mixture, still whisking (don't worry about any lumps as they will eventually disappear as you whisk). When all the liquid has been added, use a rubber spatula to scrape any elusive bits of flour from around the edge into the centre, then whisk once more until the batter is smooth, with the consistency of thin cream. Now melt the 50g/2oz of butter in a pan. Spoon 2 tbsp of it into the batter and whisk it in, then pour the rest into a bowl and use it to lubricate the pan, using a wodge of kitchen paper to smear it round before you make each pancake.
3.

Now get the pan really hot, then turn the heat down to medium and, to start with, do a test pancake to see if you're using the correct amount of batter. I find 2 tbsp is about right for an 18cm/7in pan. It's also helpful if you spoon the batter into a ladle so it can be poured into the hot pan in one go. As soon as the batter hits the hot pan, tip it around from side to side to get the base evenly coated with batter. It should take only half a minute or so to cook; you can lift the edge with a palette knife to see if it's tinged gold as it should be. Flip the pancake over with a pan slice or palette knife - the other side will need a few seconds only - then simply slide it out of the pan onto a plate.

Stack the pancakes as you make them between sheets of greaseproof paper on a plate fitted over simmering water, to keep them warm while you make the rest.
5.

To serve, sprinkle each pancake with freshly squeezed lemon juice and caster sugar, fold in half, then in half again to form triangles, or else simply roll them up. Serve sprinkled with a little more sugar and lemon juice and extra sections of lemon.

it really annoys me that people buy pancake/yorkshire pudding mix, all it is is flour, powdered egg and a whole host of additives, its cheaper and healthier to follow the above recipe.

if it looks like pancake mix you have serious problems, you should go to the docs to have it checked out

Tried these before, tasted awful in my opinion. Can't beat powdered egg. Yum. Yum.

If you don't want to weigh or measure stuff then use the same volume of flour, eggs and milk and mix it in. It should be the thickness of single cream, it might look too thin but believe me it's right so use water to thin it down if you need to and add a little bit of salt. My family has always put raisins in the pancakes and I couldn't believe it when people thought this was weird. You can soften the raisins in some boiling water first if you want, only takes a few minutes.

I didn't read instructions, I just got the ingredients and put into a bowl and mixed INCLUDING BUTTER Lol, The mixture was lumpy but had great result's and they didn't stick.

BETTY CROCKER pancake mix.....for when you're too idle to mix flour, egg and milk !!! COLD - sorry
