Most of the time people only use one USB socket which gives you full speed charge for a tablet for example or if using both sockets, full speed charging for two phones. At £5, these are worth it for 90% of typical usage.

As a sparkie im asked to fit these all the time mate,
Although they say they are 2.1A shared, and you are correct it what you have said, when testing the output while using 1 or both usbs, its nowhere near 2.1A when just using one usb, and some iphones dont even charge with the 2.1A ones.
And most devices take double or longer to charge.
But with the 3.1A you do actually get at least 2A when using just 1 usb.
BG do a 2 gang socket with just 2 usbs, meaning you get a brilliant fast change when using just 1

It charges it in around 1 hour so real happy with that and definitely not a waste of time for me

Admittedly there are better ones than others mate
I can only go on the ones im asked to fit
Good price as Screwfix seem to have cancelled their sale this year. Or at least that's what you might think when you look at the prices in their 'sale'.
BG are a quality reliable brand aswell
I have a 2.1a variant, won't charge my phone to 100% ..my 3.1a does, and gets there quickly!..I think from dead phone to charged in about an hour..(2.1a takes 2+hours to get to 70%)
I know, maybe known branded MAY be better, but my 3.1a is not a known brand(think it's from Aldi..)
Have some heat
Delivery went from free to £5 overnight
£5 delivery charge and it wont let me click and collect

Good price so heat added

It really depends on what you want it for, you seem to apply your needs to everyone else’s what is kind of wrong if you ask me. This is perfectly fine to charge most phones so don’t get your point here.

Updated to reflect the change.
Sorry this is insanely slow, decent phones are already at least 30W and mine takes 50W to charge. Not even present-proof let alone future proof, unless you got a slow charging phone like an iPhone no point.

Well, technically an iPhone is a decently manufactured and functional phone (not for the price), they charge under 20w.
The latest Samsungs are up to 45w, with last gen is at 20 odd Watts.
Only the chinese oppo/one plus etc have 50w charge.

usbA so it's never going out of fashion in the next 10 yrs easily.

Battery capacity isn't exactly skyrocking upwards so it's not out of date anytime soon.

Your Chinese phone on the other hand... who knows what US trade war is going to middle finger next. Enjoy Google play store while you still have it.

Apple products only seem decently manufactured, usually have flaws they never own up to, just like the rest. They usually don't even cover the mistakes until its too lat
At 5260 mah, yes it is. Google Play Can always be side loaded in... And they're definitely not removing it from pre-existing devices. Huawei also had a HUGE list of controversy and issues prior to the ban, there's a reason no other company has been banned
I’ve got 2.1 in the bedroom - triple usb, all my devices are charged overnight ready for in the morning (phone, watch and AirPods). I do think that when I swap some of the kitchen ones I’ll take the advice of some on here and go for the higher output for quick charging and make some of the plugs redundant.

(not an apple fan) their products are well manufactured compared to the competition. They do have decent engineering and their attempt on perfection is there (I have experience in this sector, albeit 2nd hand and not direct visiting their factories). Please read about it in general or perhaps the apple connector, how much effort and cost they put into it, as much as people dislike it.
My gripe with them is the unethical business practises they have.

You can sideload upload download anything in, kind of defeats the point of a decent phone when I have to backdoor swindle a device for daily running apps at risk of security (root or unofficial apps).

I'm OK to not look at my phone for 2 hrs for a charge. If I'm a power user I probably want to pay more than £5 for super high speed charging anyway. Horses for courses.

One plus aka Oppo is on the target too. Just Huawei was easier as they were expanding infrastructure and cause national security threat.

You don't have to be a fan boy to exist. Feel free to read up on these points.
Received mine and fitted it today. Powers my Google Home Mini fine. Only downside is that it doesn't fit well in the cavity wall patress I've got - it's not too deep front to back, it's too big top to bottom. May be something for folks to be aware of.
