Normal price £20 (as per ASDA website)

Found in Andover ASDA for £13 so unsure whether a local or national deal... Plenty left in shelf.

Able to connect to Google / Alexa through BG app - set timers, auto on/off, parental lock.

Much less bulky than installing smart plug and retrofits into existing 25mm/35mm back box.

Please consult an electrician if you are uncomfortable with changing your face plate sockets and always remember to turn the electricity off...

I've installed one of these and the physical fit is straightforward, however the connection to network can be challenging as these only connect on 2.4ghz. I've a wireless Mesh network (needed as old house and signal doesn't reach from router) and it is 5ghz unless you set the device to be reachable on 2.4ghz for a short window to be able to connect, my phone got stuck in 5ghz for ages until I switched off mobile data. It may plug and play for some, but like me you might have some challenges.

On the product side it works really well and I've now programmed on/off patterns for certain days and times for devices as they can be predicted. You can also programme left or right side independently and name those uniquely so it is easy to manage

I had similar issues when installing these. Thankfully my Xiaomi phone allows you to force the phone onto the 2.4ghz network. Sadly my Android One phone doesn't, so it was a bit hit or miss making the initial connection.

Likewise I've found these sockets to be great. Alexa and Google Home control is rock solid. I only use them for controlling lamps and fairy lights. I've never bothered with the timers etc.

The timer function is great. I use mine to switch on/off lights in my daughter's bedroom for when she's not using them and also programme it to switch off TV/Laptop/Blu-ray player in her room too so they don't sit on standby.

I've got another one that I've still to fit and living room lamp will be programmed to switch on ahead of me coming home etc
