For anyone considering these they may be slightly deeper than the regular sockets, I recently upgraded 2 of mine with Screwfix ones and found they wouldn't sit flat to the wall, the solution was a cheap backing plate off eBay but Screwfix also do one for a quid or 2

I wish in wall usb sockets were more than 3.1amp . My quick charge wire is 5amp. Or am I missing something here? :/

A lot of 3amp chargers won’t even charge at 2.4amps, just using 1amp for an iPhone. I use a ravpower which does up to 2.4amps per port using IQ to sense. You don’t get much more over PD. I don’t know about android/quick charge stuff.
That is a good deal.
BTW i have a few of these and the one in my daughters room, well the connector of the top USB fell out and obviously she didn't notice and it started sparking when she plugged something in. I took it out and replaced it with another brand and the connector had completely fried away.
Thank you, ordered 2
which one is better?

the one on this deal or this one?

3.1A Shared between 3 USBport, Iam sure all the new gadgets need 2.4V on each USB. Good for Iphone 4/5
I have both types, 3 in total, and they do the job, albeit slowly.

I tried the 3 USB socket simply because of the additional port. No problem.

All 3 have been a direct replacement for the original.

I also tried the BG home wi-fi sockets. I won't be using any more of those!!!!
What I don't get about these things being deeper is why they don't make them to stick out a bit further.

It'd make it much easier when you've got brick walls.
Thanks OP.....
Ordered two for my office.
Stops me having to plug in the Chargers.

This brand? If so, did you report this to the seller/maker?
The 3.1a is spread between all 3 outlets so you won't get much more than 1a at a time.
You need a twin outlet 5a to charge iPads and phones now a day and worth the extra few pound

Thanks for that. So will my 5amp USB type C phone charging wire work at optimal level?

Thanks. I thought so but was hoping it would work slightly slower but at a good speed nonetheless. Oh well . Appreciate the input friend.

You will get 3.1A if only using one socket, but split if you have multiple devices drawing 1a as well.

Surprised about all the moaning about quick charging. It's a very cheap USB socket, cheaper than a fast charger. Also the USB part has to fit into a much smaller space. You'd be delusional to expect a 30amp charger built into a £7 USB socket.

Hot from me.

As mentioned it will work, but not optimally.
Still handy....
Does anyone know what double switch has larger than normal terminal holes. I'm struggling to fit all the wires in a standard one

It will charge the device just slower. All depends on you want speed vs the neatness. All depends on where you plan to use it. If overnight etc who cares? If you want rapid you will need extra large charger. Happy shopping
It's it possible to switch these off? Or are they on permanently?

Always live but negligable power draw unless a device is plugged in.
Aww have none of the so called electrical "experts" given the usual scaremongering bit? (The repetitive spiel about it being an electronic circuit thats permanently on mains supply)

It Makes me chuckle, they forget some devices are never normally unplugged (router, bedside clock) and some are hardwired to mains (integrated fridge/freezer, oven etc) when they have almost identical components inside them too.

Biggest ive seen are 4.2A supplying 4x USB sockets. (though its actually 2 pairs of 2.1A)
screwfix.com/p/b…78p

i guess its down to size/heat dissipation in the wall socket..
That ridiculous that they can deceive people by saying its 2 x 4.2a lol

I confess, I'm one who thinks it's weird filling your house with phone chargers you can't unplug, however irrational.

Then I remember this:
Does anyone have a link to a similar socket which has a higher powered USB socket, IE for ipads etc? 5a? Only really need 1 or 2 USB sockets. Cheers

The one linked above is the highest output socket I’ve seen but it’s still a maximum of 3a on a single socket (USB-C) and 4.2a in total shared between the USB-A port and the USB-C one. I have them in the kitchen and bedroom and they charge my iPhone X (using a USB-C to Lightning cable) and my iPad Pro 11” reasonably fast (the former obviously quicker than the latter).
