    I'll admit, part of me thinks this is too much to spend on a typical style folding bike.

    Which makes the ~£900 at John Lewis seem insane. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it's well made but nothing special really.

    Also incase anyone is on the fence about the Raleigh one, Raleigh do have a very good returns policy. They allow you to try the bike out for 14 days and they pay the return postage. (edited)

    Yeah, the £900 on various websites (something even more!) is totally insane. I think it might be worth its three hundred and something price tag though, they're pretty good bikes (very light) and well regarded by all accounts.

    It's a nice bike but I'm not sure the 8 speed specification is correct as it's 7 speed on the Bickerton website.

    That's 7 speed too, not 24. The difference is the internal gear hub, which requires less maintenance but is heavier and a bit less efficient. (edited)

    Okay I'm totally confused now. According to the pictures on the Very website it has a brooks saddle but the one on the Bickerton website doesn't.

    And the Bickteron website one is lighter too.

    Actually it's clearly a mistake on the Very website to include the following image.

    Quite misleading. Then again, I'm not sure I'd want a Brooks saddle on a folding bike. (edited)

    So it turns out the rogue images on the listing are of the Bickerton Argent 1909 Country, their most premium model!

    Bit of a balls up from Very there as it's not just the image of the saddle that is erroneous but of the handle bars too. (edited)
