So I recently came across this in CEX and thought it was a decent deal, I have only ever watched a few episodes of Big Bang Theory on TV and thought it was quite funny, not the best US comedy in all honesty but for a tenner I thought I would give it a try for a few laughs LOL

Enjoy

My vision of hell and torture, but that's a cracking price!
('Leonard Hofstadter' is particularly unbearable - I had to look that name up)
1-9 £12 also.

Which was my first reaction to the show's premise. However watched one and got hooked because it managed to make me laugh. The first few seasons are very funny. I got fed up around season 8 though.

Any show that can make me tolerate a laugh track has got something. Think the IT crowd is the only other show with a laugh track I can watch.
Least funny show ever devised. Well apart from Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps.

If this is being sold as used its because it's cursed and somehow the owner survived.

Great price,
It's constantly on E4. It's the ONLY thing on E4. No point in buying this!

With all due respect, Two Pints, and Big Bang Theory, are NOT in the same league, yeh?.

Not even CLOSE ...

Two Pints was alllllll about normal people, etc (who here isn't a normal person?), normal young people who only had sexing on their mind's, loooool (which of us here was never young?, and/or better yet, which one's on us here can honestly claim that they've NEVER been horny before? - no, not ever?), or ...

Big Bang Theory is alllllll about both egg head's + wannabe egg head's, etc (I may be wrong me mind, but, as far as I'm aware, the World isn't filled with rocket sciencists - literally?!), that to be is not the 'norm' to which the average boy + girl in the street can relate to, or whatever? (and that's the bottom line - irrespective of what anyone says ... )

So the way I see it is this (us normal people anyway), the bulk of the Nation are wayyyyyy more likely to be able to both relate + interrelate with Two Pints any Day, than that of the boffin's amongst us, that are only ever to chill out with more 'non-standard' form's of entertainment, as that of Big Bang Theory, and suchlike's, etc etc etc?.

That's how I interpret that way of thing's (as per your comment anyway, and suchlike?).

Anyways, I like both - well, I preferred Two Pints more, but Big Bang Theory however, took a wee while to grow on me though, lol (I found it a bit tooooo pretentious initially, but still ... )

It's all good though. :-)

One tries too hard, the other not enough, neither is actually funny unless you're worn down by them and a form of Stockholm Syndrome sets in.

But then I like Stewart Lee and can't stand Michael McIntyre so I'm really not the right audience.

No disrespect intended.

"One tries too hard, the other not enough".

I'm not exactly 100% sure as to which of those two show's you're referencing as either trying too hard, and/or as not all? (or whatever?, lol).

But either way (here's a wee history lesson), Two Pints was actually conjured up by pure CHANCE, and NOT by design ...

A then young, 26 Year old Uni Grad joined the BBC as it's newest member of their TV script writing team - and yes, at only 26 at the time, she was also one of it's youngest also (she was basically amongst fellow male and female script member's who where in their mid-late 40's, or older + had been there for anything up to 10 Year's, and she was a freshling - in every sense of the word?).

Needless to say, the pressure was on for her to (figuratively) prove her bacon ... (the heat was on, lol).

Anyways, she coined onto a revolutionary idea (and that was this), she was young, right?, and what exactly is it that pretty much most (if not all), young people think about from one minute to the next? (I'll give the World 3 guesses to figure that out?, lol).

Her answer to her own conundrum was, all young people think about alllllll Day is sex (who knew?, hehehe).

And low and behold, Two Pints was then born ...

So unless I'm mistaken, I genuinely don't see anything pretentious about anything in Two Pints there, like? (unless I'm mistaken?).

Baring in mind that Two Pints first showcased over 1 Decade ago, yeh?, and ...

So, unless I'm also mistaken (10+ Year's later, etc?), young people have still NOT stopped thinking about sex, sex, sex alllllll Day long like, have they?, or ... lol.

So, once again, where was the pretentiousness of Two Pints to have been found in it, more than 1 Decade prior then, etc etc? (unless of course, I'm genuinely dreaming or something? - well, it is currently kinda late in the hour, after all?). ;-)

As far as truer like for like analogies are concerned, The Big Bang Theory, doesn't even come close ...

Though I'm not trashing The Big Bang Theory, as it's good for the 'window' it's pitching for or whatever? - but to be honest with ourselves, it's not exactly pitching with normal people in mind though, is it? (for alllllll those above 1001 reasons - as per my various earlier above explanations, etc etc etc?).

That's me done anyway, hehehehehehe.

As for those comedians you mentioned also, well, even though I'm familiar with the faces of both of those guy's, I'm only actually familiar with Michael McIntyre's comedy, and yeh, he too was initially ANNOYING AS HELL!! (sorry Michael McIntyre fan's), but (with a pinch of salt now at least, lol), I don't mind him too much now. :-)

Well, sort of ...

He reminds me of a (reversed form of) Jack Dee too!, let's just say, it look me a longgggg TIME, before I eventually warmed up to his 'thang' ... lol.

Though though, I prefer Jack Dee's older stuff's, than that of his more recent stuff's, etc (how's that for a bit of true irony, no?, looool).
Thanks for the deal. One of the best tv shows ever.
Heat added! My memories~~
