Picture is of 3kg, but ones in store are 5kg. Just saying to avoid confusion!

charcoal baguettes????....whats the filling???...lol

Is this the instant lighting charcoal?

If by instant lighting you mean the separate bags that you light, this isn't that. These are small compacted round briquettes (not baguettes!) that are generally easier to light and burn for longer than charcoal. Also the uniform size means they don't fall through the grate.

I use a weber chimney (like in the deal here: http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/weber-chimney-starter-14-99-argos-2249372) and a couple of lighter cubes underneath and can light them with 30 second setup and around 15 minute wait.

See manufacturers site:

I always find briquettes taint the flavour of the food, avoid on that basis (same as instant light stuff). Chimney starter full of lump wood, newspaper packed into the bottom & light. 15 mins later you're ready to go

I like lump wood smell, but it burns too fast and too hot. Great for kebab sticks but poor for sausages and slab of meat.

Great price heat added

I prefer charcoal by "White Heat Charcoal" they last much longer than "Big K". Was using "Big K" for years but wouldn't go back now that I have been using the White Heat Charcoal

Get restaurant grade lumpwood, big chunks burn longer, the smaller bits burn up quick. I use restaurant grade stuff in my smoker which needs to burn for a long time.

Did 2 x 3kg Pork Shoulders last weekend for just under 18 hours, used about 3-4kg charcoal on the bottom of the pan at the start, only had to start chucking a few extra's on after 15 hours. Ashes still warm next morning......

Cheap-Coal as previously stated though, West Midlands area only, though. It is a coalman that delivers it.....

You can get 4 bags of this for £48 from Amazon delivered if it is outside your area. More expensive though......

Big K is the number one provider of BBQ coal to restaurants who use Josper and Inka grills, and reccomended by both.
