Always wanted one of these as a child, but was too deprived. Then, they re-released them years later but I discovered I was too tight to pay £35 for one. Now down to £13.99, I might just blow the dust off my purse and hunt one down on the pretence it's for the kids........

Yeah, they seem few and far between!

One in East Kilbride though!
Why would any toy need to use D batteries nowaday even for a retro?

Have you seen the size of a big track ?? it wouldn't last very long on AAA's. A, D cell has over 14 times the power of a AAA battery.

Energizer Max

AAA 1.250 Amp Hours
AA 2.850 Amp Hours
C 8.350 Amp Hours
D 18.000 Amp Hours
I was a ten year old boy (i.e. prime market for this toy) when it first came out more than thirty years ago and it was boring overpriced crap then. Why would anyone want to buy it now? Oh, they don't, which is why the price has been reduced from £35 to £14. It isn't because it is a bargain, it is because it is rubbish. How long will it clutter up your house before it goes into the landfill?

Shush, you're ruining it for me !! I wanted one of these for ages, thought they looked brilliant. Always the same though, when you get hold of something you wanted as a child, it inevitably ends up being a pile of crud and leaves you wondering why you wanted it for all these years
Boo, none in any Argos near me. Nearest 10 have none... sniff sniff
Yep, I fell for reliving my youth after always wanting one as a kid after playing with a mates one many many moons ago.

Bought one, played with it for 10 minutes then realised things had moved on and it was just a bit naff.

Been in its box accumulating dust for over a year until i donated it to a special school for autistic kids. Least someones making good use of it now.

Wouldn't waste your money

well people can do one thing. buy it, play with it and then sell on ebay it when they are satisfied. I am not meaning people should buy it for profit.

If you buy this on a cheap deal ( if your'e lucky to find one! ) then when you sell it you will get almost the same money you paid for it.

Childhood dreams fulfilled at almost no cost!

I did this with a casio handheld game called "submarine battle" which i played long ago but never had it. I found a good deal on ebay 3 games for £30 includint that game. I bought it then sold the other 2 for £20. so the game cost me £10 which is not too bad considering they normally go at £35 on ebay. I still have the game!8)

Correction: I actually did bid on the bundle of 3 games which ended up at £26, including postage it was about £30.

Damn wanted one for the hubby and he's 40!!!!! (I have got a young son though!!) Though he states it's not Big Trak without the trailer!!! Shame there aren/'t any in my 10 nearest stores. Not to worry, folks, they'll be giving them away soon, looks like they've started to already.

These were £8 on this site yesterday

Would he be happy with a can carrier - the ulimate Homer Simpson device - still requires some clever gizmo to get the fridge open and the beer into the carrier

Maplins have them for £3.99 (can carrier not the Big Trak!) Link to maplins Big Trak

Look under the accesories tab.

Got mine for £14 in Jan 2011 so they are not dropping that fast.

Problem with these is that they have tried to be clever by dropping the power. The original one I had back in the day had a 9v battery for the "computer" and 4xD cell for the motors. This has no 9v and only 3xD cells and boy does it show. My original would grind its way all over the house with the trailer loaded up without a problem, this sack-o-poo cant even turn on carpet with fresh batteries!! I sent mine back as forums stated that it was a power issue that they will fix it for free. To be fair they were great, refunded my postage (in stamps!) and sent it back within 3wks with a new power switch that had an extra setting for carpet use. Its better, but its still crap, plus, why the hell does RIGHT90 not equal a 1/4 turn, its trial and error and gets boring...... quickly!!!

Anyone want to buy my Big-Trak?!?!?
I had one and as others said once over the initial excitement it became boring very quickly so crap then crap now. Unless you have a games room in a large or small house and want a grotto of all things played with growing up (not that obviously!) then save your money
Theres a camera coming out for this shortly which attaches on top, it might even be out alread but i've not seen it anywhere.
There's one in stock in Launceston if anyone's near there!!
Thanks for the feedbacks folks:)

They never make the remakes the same do they? I might get one if I can get it at a cheap price when it's back in stock again. I've got quite a big kitchen with a wooden floor, so hubby could sit on the floor and play with it in there I suppose when I want a bit of peace!!!!!
Crap back in the day. Crap now. I don't get it.
