BigTrak, if you don't remember, was an amazingly cool-looking 6-wheeled tank that you could programme yourself to move around whilst firing its photon beam. Happily, not much has changed with this new version, which means you can not only relive the fun you had as a kid but, if you've got children of your own, pass it on through the family.

good price. rubbish toy!

Aah, the 70's. Fond memories. Flares. Industrial action. Cars that crumbled to rust after a light shower. Showaddywaddy. Crossroads. BigTrak.

How I coveted one of these at the time. But we've moved on!

This is a fantastic educational toy for teaching mathematics, logic and the rudimentary basics of programming to kids.

funny, I have one and are crap at all the above. good price

ordered, cheers OP

NOTE: These units differ from the original in that they don't use 4xD cell and 1x 9v, they use 3x D cell instead. This is not a problem but you need to make sure that your Bigtrak has 2 power settings:

I Tiles/ Normal
0 off
II Carpet

If not it will most likely not be able to turn on carpet like mine didnt. To be fair Zeon (who are marketing it now) sorted it for me and even returned my P&P (in stamps but who cares). Excellent customer service but would have preferred it to work in the first place as 6yr olds dont understand why their new toy has to disappear for 3 weeks.

BTW... 6yr old now thinks its crap but Daddy loves it!!!!

My 8yo lad loves his. Teaching him programming at an early age :-)

Always wanted one, almost did on ebay a while back. Tempted but really can't justify it.

worst toy ever... big, annoying, noisy - crap

Has the battery life improved since the 80's? I remember setting it off down the hall and I needed to change the batteries by the time it reached the kitchen!. I loved my back then though, Used to push it around even without batteries.
Never quite managed to deliver an apple to my dad though :-[

If it is like the original it will be a bitter disappointment!! I should have gotten the Evil Kenival Stunt Bike......

BFN,

My uncle fitted the insides of one of these into a vauxhall viva in the 80's so he could get home from the pub when drunk. He used to get in the back and have a sleep until he was home.

That's available again. Only any good until the balance goes if the handlebar breaks.

Wow, and yet I had one as a kid and have excelled in all three. Guess no educational toy can help all levels of ability.
