This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Bike rental company Beryl bikes have made their bikes free to use for the NHS staff at a number of locations across the country including London, Norfolk, Poole, Watford and other places.

From Their Website
As the COVID-19 crisis develops in the UK, we’re aware that many people won’t be able to stay home as they’ll be working to protect and aid the general public.

We want to ensure these individuals can still be mobile and maintain safe distances from others while travelling to and from their places of work.

As such, in partnership with city Councils, we've taken the decision to make Beryl Bikes temporarily free for NHS staff.

Key info:
  • You must sign up with your NHS email address. This will provide you free use of the bikes for all trips ending in a Beryl Bay.
  • Trips must end in a Beryl Bay and be no longer than 60 minutes. The out of bay and out of service area fees will still apply.
  • We currently anticipate making access available until the end of May, but may extend should the crisis continue.

Hope it helps someone.

If they actually cared and wasnt just easy marketing they'll actually give free bikes not just let you ride it for 60min in a certain area before they empty your bank account..

How many NHS staff cycle over an hour in one go?
I love some of those deals for NHS staff, my wife is a nurse so we have used a few but this is plain weird. NHS staff using a bike that potentially hundreds of other people used before to get to work ? That's just plain poor infection control. I don't think those companies clean the bikes on a daily basis.

Not many, if any but that's not my point
Do NHS only need a bike during a Pandemic?

Or maybe they dont just need it for work may be after they want to have a nice bike ride after work (daily exercise is allowed btw)

Then just wipe the contact points down before use!

I appreciate your sentiment, but there is no way any company let alone Beryl can afford to hand out free bikes to everyone in the NHS - whilst it might not sound a lot but they are doing whatever they can in their line of business and if every company did their bits we would already have a much better situation, dont you think?

I know multiple frontline staff, this is not a thing. Each trip is 60 minutes. Anyone actually in a heavy impacted zone is so exhausted from the stress and late hours, cycling more than 60 minutes is the last thing on their mind.
the 60minute limit is weird.
Way comfier than the Tfl bikes. Miss this lot if they fold, they’ve had some good deals (specific to a very small area of London)
They need these for after this is over when the NHS Trusts start charging them for parking again.
