I think he went into film direction...at least he directed a great little movie called "Freaked" (in which a then reasonably famous Reeves played the wolfman).

If you look up imdb.com I'm sure it will have more details on Alex Winter.

If you remember the very old lottery advert that featured a man falling down the stairs (or jumping from excitement, something like that), Alex Winter directed that. It showed a scene from the advert in which you just saw the mans legs upside down, Alex had his arms in trousers with his hands in shoes to do that scene.
