Up to 6 miles, very surprising for the price! Great for having fun with your kids in the park.

I would not recomend this,
Got one pair last christmas and it can get get signal if both are in a streigh line with no obstructions,
So if you are in a band or behind a tall building you will not get signal!

Hot for the find though.!

Yep Gotta agree, 6 miles if you are both on a mountain top and nothing in the way, in a urban environment you would be looking at half a mile or so, maybe less.

Good walkie talkies. Lots of freq band options, I get about a mile in suburban conditions. Line if sight should be more.

Assuming you have the license to use them...

We use these in work, and the effective range is definitely not 6 miles in an urban environment. I'd say max about 1/4 of a mile and i'm being generous there. Bearing in mind we're in an old building with large thick walls; possibly the worst case. Still reaches from one end of the building to the other so it suits us for now.

Not bad if you've got a outside use for them, but otherwise I'd recommend something else.

You don't need a license as long as you re-program them on the 446Mhz Frequencies. :-)

I have no musical talent whatsoever so unlikely to ever be in a band... :p.

That would almost certainly result in breaching the 500mW EPR output limit on the PMR Band.

If you want to use those kind of radios better to either do the course and get an amateur license or cough up the £75 for a 5 Year Simple UK Business Radio License.

These are really a toy to be used within a garden or a small park, Don`t rely on them for anything that serious ! I have these COBRA radios and work like a charm everytime needed them during camping etc..

I am not saying Buy the refurbish one for more money etc but the model and the specs etc are there for your reference !!!

so your cobra 2 way radios are really that much better than the radios in this deal?

I paid about £22 for a set of these around Christmas time. Not had any decent use for them yet but that's what happens when we have access to great deals

these are false economy but they are OK for a small I mean very small distances. with built up area you ll be lucky to get few hundred yards. Cobra s are better I got nearly 2.5 miles in built up area and open space is just brill.

The Cobras linked are also PMR446 so again you'd be looking at about a mile in most cases, longer in open ground
