The Binatone Brick: big, bulky, bizarre. Old school British mobile phone brand Binatone has come up with a retro handset that harks back to the days of yuppies and Filofaxes -- but with a few modern upgrades.

Quirky little gift for £30

Cheers mate

Looks great

Omg includes snake game! Love it!

Awesome!

If it's the usual Binatone quality avoid. Same goes for Bush, Matsui, Technika, etc.

I've got one. It's great.

I've had mine for two weeks and I love it. No one cares about the latest smart phone but this big boy really gets some attention. The problem is toting is too slow so you often get a second txt from the person you are replying to before you have type your answer. Best thing to do is use it as a blue tooth handset and keep your smartphone out of sight. Then if you need to txt use the smartphone.

Apparently I'm getting one for Christmas. Cant wait for a bit of retro cool
Still waiting for someone to do a decent job of making the original Star Trek communicator into a mobile phone though. X)

Forget this - I want to see people bluetoothing REAL bricks from their ears to their smartphones. THAT would be making a real statement!

I had a Motorola Startac back in the day, and it was ridiculous the number of people who though it was called the Star Trek phone

I cant agree more. I was bought a Binatone tablet 2 years ago and on the front it stated it supported flash. It had android on it and did not support flash (without some cracking).

I rang their customer support and they stated that it would not play flash and I needed an Ipad for that (which also does not support flash). Complete bunch of idiots and I did managed to get my money back after a few months of fighting because it failed on about 7 things it stated on the front (such as ability to play certain files, ebooks, a marketplace and the one they used went under).

However the phone does look cool

Just blooming fantastic... I can see GOOGLE bringing the Motorola 8500X back next year, after the success of this puppy over christmas!

Now it is on HUKD's just watch the media pick up on it again, like in October after the autumn fair up at Birminham, this was by far the star of the show!

Remember when we used to own a mobile phone to actually talk to people on them!

VERY early advert!

Seems to be unavailable at Argos and invisible at CPW, unless I'm doing something wrong on the websites

But... but... why?

No stock Argos

I think that a few [crazy] people have stripped out a bust 8500x and replaced with PSTN [guts out of trimphone] line to use at home and sure have seen a WiFi / PBX / VOIP version somewhere!

It's fits down the front of my pants though.

- 32 GB of expandable memory (memory card not included).

err what for? snake?!

For those concerned about the quality - I have one in my hand right now and can say that they are pretty good actually - not the cheap garbage you might expect. It's a chunky, well built device. A gimmick, nothing more - but never the less, it makes a good conversation piece.

The battery slot is a novel idea - the phone comes with a standard battery (with a spacer bracket) which gives about a week of standby - but there is actually space for a larger battery which Binatone plan to sell (not seen it for sale anywhere yet), which gives the phone over six months standby time!

Have some heat.

Is this IOS7?

All I need now is Del Boy's 3 wheeler!

From the spec: "Weight 2.6g"

Fantastic if that's correct. Or maybe they meant 2.6kg

got one of these a month ago...a lot of fun and very loud!

Its the Binatone logo that spoils it for me
