I bought 1 myself. With my asda discount £22.50 he he

hot if true.

got one of these running tomtom 6 quite happily from an SD card earlier in the week though I paid £50 at the time for it :x

this is hot considering you can run tomtom on it

Think i'll check this out tomorrow.

I'll deffo be checkking my Local Asda tomorrow to see if this deal is in there.....
Heat and rep to the OP tomorrow if it is.

unfortunately this is selected stores only
in my local store (Runcorn) it was still £50 BUT our H&L manager hasnt been in for a few days so it may be waiting to be marked down....

Must admit i'm not holding my breath, every time a good instore deal at Asda gets posted on here its never on at my store.

I live near to the shaw store, might pop up early tomorrow and see

Thanks!

how stable is the unit running tomtom. is it as good as the real thing?

yes tomtom 6 is stable - don't know why it wouldn't be ??

I installed tomtom 6 on a 1gb sd card along with UK, Spain, Portugal and Italy maps.

The nice thing is that all you have to do is turn the unit off, eject the SD card, turn the unit back on and it runs the original software.

You're gonna have to help us out here mate. I can half hack it, i've overwritten the files in the flash drive (using MS activesync) with the tomtom version but then put the maps onto a sd card. Have you fuly unlocked to windows ce cos i couldn't some of the registry details were different to the one of the navigo from ebuyer. Rep for any good info as i'm sure others will as well.

All I did was copy the tomtom 6 software onto an SD card, rename the tomtom directory to Mobilenavigator, rename the tomtom application to Mobilenavigator.exe and put a copy of it in the root.
It doesn't need any clever fiddling with activesync, doesn't need unlocking, in fact you don't need to do anything at all to the unit.
It defaults to look for Mobilenavigator on the SD card if there is one installed and runs that in preference to it's internal navigation program when you select the navigation icon.
From memory I beleive this is identical to what I did for the Navigon units from Ebuyer

nearly forgot - I think it was fussy about the M needing to be in capitals in Mobilenavigator
