Apart from being more compact and aesthetically pleasing how are these better than the £10-£15 stand fans?

I was just thinking exactly the same thing. Other than it having a remote control ( for lazy people ) how is this any different to my £15 Argos tower fan , which has lasted me 3 year's so far.
Having a remote control makes a tremendous difference. Don't knock it.
This deal has blown me away 😁

I have the big Bionaire Tower Fan and it's good but it's not better than the standard windy fan which can give you more blows in a minute compared to bionaire.

The only thing that's good about it is the remote control system which helps when your on the sofa/bed lying down and can't be bothered to get up to switch the fan off (that's when the remote control cums hands on)
I bought one a couple of years ago but think I paid about 30 quid. (considering getting another ) the main difference over our "windmill" stand one other than the remote is that it's quieter so great at night when we mainly use it.
I have one with heater built in . Could be used all year. This one is just a fan

I bought the ainso...seems to have better reviews for like 3 quid more.
I've had a similar one for a few years and they are great but you will need to have a look on Youtube to learn how to take them apart to clean them out once in a while or they will lose their "puff".

They're quieter so its easier to fall asleep with the fan on, the remote is super useful, and as you said they're way more compact and aesthetically pleasing. Ofc these won't be as good as a traditional style for the amount of air they push, but they aren't bad either!

So for a deep sleeper like myself ... The classic stand fan is the better option.
I find the sound of a fan quite therapeutic tbh.

Essentially, yep. The stand fan will blow much more air around
