So, unknown fish variety then? No thanks.

Yes, and haddock, if you search the freezer cabinets. Much more expensive though.

No more Cod left in the sea, been wiped out by greedy fisherman in trawlers taking hundreds of tons of cod from the sea without a thought of how sustainable the cod would be!

Hmmm... 100% of what? Suspicious :-)

I forgot... Bird's Eye 100% Cod Fish Fingers were 99p for a 10 pack about a couple of weeks ago in Tesco. They taste the best for me, crispy.

Originally £2.99 for 14 fingers??? Yeah right, I wouldn't pay that!

Birds eye 100% Cod fish fingers are also on offer in Tesco, Ok so the packs are only 10 packs and work out 72p more but they are cod. £1.99 each or 2 for £3 vaild till 27/12/1010. I only buy the cod ones also. Also Haddock 10 packs £1.74 each or 2 for £3 x

Since when did fish fingers get so expensive? When I was a student (only three years ago) I remember the premium brands never being more than £1 for ten... however that never stopped me going for the ADSA smartprice fishfingers which were around 17p for ten :-D

I think cod fish fingers are the best i tasted the above fish fingers and they tasted nasty.

A good buy. Hot for me.

What type of fish you prefer is down to personal taste - what one person likes, others hate, so dont knock a deal because the flavour in this instance does not appeal.

62% fish only. How do they manage to get so little in a finger?
There's a lot of gunge in there, still, I do like them. Hot.

Tasteless Alaskan Pollock..Yuk!!
Rather buy Cod for twice the price.

couldnt agree more with toycollector

alaskan pollock is just plain yuk!

also these days i tend to spend more time in the fish aisle at supermarkets figuring out which is 100% cod and haddock. have to be careful especially with birds eye products fish fingers including omega 3 lines contain a mix of 'white fishes'

mix of white fishes cost next to nothing to produce, as some fishes are a caught at a loss.
where as cod and haddock are more in demand, more expensive

selling a mix of white fish , fishfingers is big money for the manufacturers, falsely fool the public with 'promotions' to attract

It tells you in the post above, Pollock fillet.

Pollock isn't that dissimilar to Cod IMO.

Alaska pollock or walleye pollock (Theragra chalcogramma) is a North Pacific species of the cod family Gadidae.
