Anyone got any suggestions as to nice resorts and hotels

Double Tree by Hilton in Apora. Great location for the Saturday night market. Amazing staff and facilities. Free shuttle to all nearby beaches or pay £3 and go a bit further. Just got back from here a month ago. Can’t wait to go back.

Found it myself - dont even use that site
Check the visa situation first.
Apparently it's improved a little recently but my last Indian tourist visa cost me upwards of £120.
It's like the government are determined to kill off any short stay - high value tourism in favour of hippies who spend nothing and can spread the cost of a visa over a four month stay.

The cost has escalated as a result of the UK govt increasing the visa fee for Indian nationals who wanted to come here. The gesture was simply reciprocated. Plenty of other country's citizens are able to get a visa on arrival. On the other hand, an e-visa can now be applied for online which is much easier and cheaper, but it is valid for a shorter period.

Heat added Get a e-visa and take mosquito spray.
indiamike.com/ - used to be a great source for all things India (and likely still is!) And awesome price, OP.

Indian Visas and e-Visa:

Info from the UK Gov: gov.uk/for…nts

And this last site has the below advisory:
Services of e-Visa involves completely online application for which no facilitation is required by any intermediary / agents etc. It is advised not to believe or fall in trap of any such unscrupulous elements who claim speedy/express grant of e-Visa and charge money for it.

Anyone got any suggestions as to nice resorts and hotels

The silversands in Candolim used to be nice 10 years ago , anything with a dona in the name was a dump, although the decade since I've been it might have improved
It’s summer time now and if anybody loves relaxing by the beach it’s the perfect time.I would recommend South Goa for a more calm experience as the beaches are less crowded than the North.

Great price & fantastic weather. I went to Vagator & the beach was amazing. It wasn't very busy too so less people bothering you.

Why would anyone want to leave Birmingham
Price doesn’t include luggage
Hot deal.
I want to go home
Lately there was some competition between India and UK governments in raising Visitor Visa fees. UK wins
I would highly recommend staying at the Park Hyatt Resort in Goa, albeit on the expensive side but service is impeccable and has its own private beach and the buffet breakfast/dinner is outstanding!
But it shows £349 to me 😣

Good stuff. I may even pop over to see some friends before the monsoon.
Thanks OP. Booked the one from Birmingham on the 15th. If anyone else is travelling solo and booked the same flight, feel free to get in touch :-)
There's Leela beach Resort, Royal Goan Beach Club, Heritage village Resorts in South Goa. Intercontinental further down south.
All are pretty decent hotels. Those on shoe string budget you have many other resorts. Remember most hotels have option of no meal frills. The shacks are very famous for delicious sea food.
