You can travel from Birmingham to London Euston in London Midland trains for £5 one way. This offer available for off-peak hours during weekdays also available at weekends for most train journeys. You get this price from Coventry station also..
It's £5 for a single journey and If you have a rail card then it's £3.95.

So works out like £10 return...Not as fast as Virgin Trains, but a lot cheaper.

Thanks....:D

just out of interest - why is it £3.95 for rail card holders?

my rail card gives me 1/3rd off... so shouldn't it come to £3.33 or £3.34?

Awesome, cheers :).

Cant find ANY weekend £5 deals!!!....

Thanks for this. I'll be going from London to Birmingham in a few weeks. Normally I travel by Chiltern Railways from Marylebone at £10 return (advance) which is a slightly longer but a very picturesque journey (until you pass Banbury then it's all concrete until you get to Birmingham).

Can't find no £5 deals at all....

last week a traveled with Virgin trains for £7.50 each way

Different rail companies have different promotions, so 1/3 off is the standard, but is not always the case. For example, an early morning Wigan to Birmingham return costs £67 normally, but £25.10 with a rail card, because Virgin applies the discount to the off peak price even though you are travelling at peak time. One of the rare times a large company does something honourable.

aside from that particular fare, any new website for finding rail details is good.

If the trains were double this price regularly I'd use them more.

Me neither, £9.50 is cheapest I could find from Coventry, and with a journey time of near as makes no difference - 2 hours, I would spend more time travelling than there!

Ok I guess if you can find them at this price.
Personally won't waste time sitting in this slow train. Virgin trains are much faster and you can often find good fares with them if you book in advance. Quicker than driving there and more environmentally friendly.

open return (valid one month on off peak trains) only £17.50 return (£11.55 for railcards), thatsonly £8.75 (£5.75 r.card) each way and means you have flexible travel instead of tied to selected trains........:3

HOT!

Click find the best fares in the bottom left of the page, it's from the quoted price, though if you can find a Super Off Peak return they are very cheap.

Didn't work for me.

LOL.
They definitely don't exist.
This 'deal' is not real; see here on their own website where they state fares start from £6

Dead right, OK some good prices, but as crippled as I am, I'd rather walk, life's too short!
