Great prices

Fyi, June is the rainy season in Tokyo, it starts mid June till July usually. Also these flights are to Haneda so it's about 2 hrs from Tokyo station/Shinjuku by coach (limo bus) or 1hr 25 via the nex train

Still a great place to go rain or shine!

We're going again in May this year to avoid the rain

Any questions about Tokyo of Japan in general please let me know

This is incorrect about Haneda. I suppose you meant Narita. You can get to Shinjuku in about 40 mins from Haneda by train.

Haneda should be quicker than that as it's in Tokyo compared to Narita which is 30 miles out?

I looked at these flight "deals" from Air France and KLM, but I think there is no hold baggage for this price - only hand allowance, so it may not be as competitive as other operators if you need to take into account extra cost for cases.

Just booked Japan for the third time now.

Managed to get direct flights into Osaka and out of Haneda for October with BA and premium economy one way for £630 which is a bit of a steal.

BA fly direct to Osaka now so it’s defiantly worth pricing up flying into and back from different airports. You can always fly between them internally or use the bullet train.

There is so much for kids to do there. I honestly wouldn’t worry about the travel. My 11 year old has been traveling longhaul since he was 12 weeks old. Hands down the only place he is excited to go back to is Japan. We are going in August. The place is a complete sensory overload. I think we were a bit overwhelmed on our first visit two years ago, but we are very excited to be going again

Erm, no thanks.
Just imagining a load of Brummies piling into Tokyo asking the locals where they can get a 'kipper tie' from.

Looks like those prices are no longer available for those dates however they are for April/May.

Only thing to be aware of with that is Golden Week which will mean it’ll be busy.

I disagree with your comment, just came back from Tokyo last week, haneda is closer to city than Narita. Narita airport is 50km far from the city. Flew with KLM/AF and both way was fantastic in economy

Just came back from Tokyo myself and I flew to and from Haneda Airport and it certainly isn't 1 hr 25 mins via train. More like 20 mins and trains arrive every 3/4 minutes.

Train is by far the best way to get around Japan!
Nice virus going around there I hear I think I’ll pass

I did it a few years back with a 10 month old.

Just keep them entertained and the jetlag does pass in a few days.
Those who have gone, would it be too much of a rush to book the flight from Birmingham to Tokyo on the 28th Jan? (Next week)? Cheers

Are the hotels there cheap? Visa too? Foreigner friendly if you don't know Japanese?

Plenty of options available for all price ranges. Visa free travel for up to 90 days if British citizen. Foreigner friendly enough, may be helpful to have a translator app for some menus or if purchasing food in quirky packaging but most places have pictures or English anyway.
That's a very good price and I am pretty tempted even tho I only went in November. Highly recommended country to visit. When I went I could upgrade for £50 or so to more leg room seats and that made a big difference to flight comfort and at this low price I'd do it again. The flights to Osaka also worth considering and in Tokyo out Osaka or vice versa would be a good option practically with the super fast Shinkansen connection being an experience in itself. Worth noting in the cities at least the announcements and signage is in English and Japanese so that helps and a day or two learning the ropes is all you'll likely need. Just watch the locals and copy. Many restaurant people speak English to some degree so it's OK. a 10/10 country to visit. Learnt so much there.

Depending on what you do and where you eat.

If you are sticking in Tokyo and taking the train around, expect approx £2-3 per journey.

Breakfast around £12 to 15 sit down restaurant.

Lunch can be around £12 to £15 for a set menu (in a sit down restaurant).

Dinner... Your budget is the limit.

Attractions. This one is hard, I'd definitely look online as it will show you. Things like skytree, Disneyland, the modern art museum, studio Ghibli, etc should be booked in advance so you can discount that from daily spend.

If you are shopping... It is expensive. It's like London you can shop in expensive or cheaper areas. Ginza and it's department stores are incredible but are very expensive. Harajuku or ... I forget there is another trendy area near there will be cheaper.
