sorted byAlso if you're removing sick, or pooh or anything unhygienic, it's always a good idea to add some anti bacterial to the rinse tank especially if you have kids.
Oh and one more thing they don't teach you when doing DIY carpet cleaning is that when professionals clean they pretreat stains before extraction. The best product for that is called a microsplitter. You can buy it from Prochem, Alltec, Worldofclean, Restormate or Evergreen Clean who have 50% off atm as they're raising money for charity.

To put it into perspective 85db for more than 30 minutes can cause permemant hearing loss, tinnitus and other noise related problems.
These run around 74db so not that far off. This isn't to say these aren't good machines they will save you money, but pick some defenders up off eBay or Amazon for £15 that reduces up to 30dB. (edited)
It is much on power with our Vax hoover that we use in the house. Even his mate borrowed it.

Doesn't this just leave really clean spots\areas on your carpet? Without doing the whole carpet won't this make it look patchy?
I have a chocolate brown carpet the dog threw up on.
It's now all chocolate brown again.
Here's my input, I wish I got a vax instead. It just takes too long, the attatchments are tiny, take ages to do an entire surface.
Look at the amount refurbed on ebay... and honestly... even using the official detergents... it doesnt seem to do the job of getting the carpet clean or smell free... I'm not doing anything wrong its a very wet device and I would say suction wise it isnt the best at getting all that back up.
Avoid.
