I bought one at Xmas, unless the design has changed, the centre of the keg needs to be pushed in fully for it to pour and leaves the beer flat within a few hours.

Opt for the Bud one instead!
how did people keep this cool? I don't think I could get it in my half fringe/half freeze.

They are self contained. There's a valve on top the centre pops in and there's a tap at the front that pulls out. My favorite German beer! cheers op heat added.
