    better safe than sorry. heat
Isn't Sophos better? And it's free.
Bitdefender is my number 1 anti virus. Hothot
Have you got a direct link? Thanks
I've been looking at AV that do real-time URL scanning - Kaspersky is good and this may be good too.
BUT coming up as £29.99 for me?
I hesitate to post this for any backlash but why not just run your programs sandboxed rather than using an anti-virus?

I would suggest that sandboxing is reserved for the more technically minded and that would still not prevent all dodgy files

Surprisingly it isn't. I've been using Sandboxie for well over 3 years now. Never had any problems. I've been hit twice by dodgy sites but just deleting the sandbox completely fixes it. All I'm saying is this I would personally take Sandboxie, a well partitioned drive and regular backups over active virus protection any day of the week. Its a shame that most people aren't aware of the program

Thanks for info, I'll have a looksee
I use bitdefender at home, fully featured and this is a good price, not sure whether to buy now as have 92 days left. I have had issues with both Avast and AVG free offerings in the past.

Not sure it is better, Bitdefender seems to do better at AV comparatives.

I've just got my first Mac (2nd hand) what is Sandboxie ? Is it something like running virtual machines? I wouldn't mind some more information about what it is and how it works. Sounds decent from what you've mentioned.

Just googled it.... Not for Mac lol...anything similar on Mac? I'll check out sandboxie on my PC.

Clicking your link takes you to an empty shopping basket page... Going back to the bitdefender website shows the price as £34.99. Am I missing something or has this deal expired?

Yep, I get an empty basket to.
Used Bitdefender Total Security for a few years now, great product, but awful customer service if you ever need to get support. I had to contact them twice with simple subscription enquiries, it took them 2 weeks to reply on both occasions. (only after I have raised a complaint).
    Bad link

I'm pretty sure linux has a built-in sandbox function (though you may need some type of app to configure it). I don't know, I don't use a Mac.
Bad link. I am getting this.
