Dont find these very good for drilling into masonary... only wood or perhaps thin metal.

Go for an 18V if you want to drill into masonary - it just gives you that extra bit of power.

Good deal but it has been on offer for at least a week.

had this instore at asda great yarmouth was £45 down to £20

I believe it's not got a hammer drill for masonary.

Supposed to be a cheap Dewalt as they bought B&D out a few years back but I wouldn't believe that.
This probably has a plastic chuck which always tend to slip after prolonged use (for me anyway).

If you want it for a couple odd jobs then fine but not really practical for long use although you will have big muscles from hauling that heavy battery about

Is this a drill/driver or only drill? Can one use this as a screwdriver?

@ VCD yes this is perfect for screwdriving too. it has variable torque setting so it makes screwdriving easier.

@ discoduster - It not a cheap Dewalt its a BD and dwalt never bought out black and decker. Black and decker bought the Dewalt brand in the 1960s and have developed the brand and made it highly succsessfull. Thats why BD powe tools are for the DIYer and Dewalt for the proffessional tradesman. It a good drill driver and does not have a hammer action so not suitable for solid brick wall etc.

HR to the OP good price for a branded drill.

I've got this drill, the battery life is good and its got some good torque on it. The charger seems abit cheap and lightweight and its got now LED to let you know when its fully charged or even to let you know its charging but other than that its a great drill.

Power mad!

Probably okay for drilling into breezeblock but not solid bricks (you need hammer action for that and probably 18V+)

Just checked mine and it has got hammer action. Mot enough speed / power though for any major jobs, i then use my corded.

and black and decker were bought by stanley in 2009 .........
