I had one, it’s ok but not great
I have the 10.8v portable one (not a car specific one) from B&D and its brilliant - I would have thought that this is 18v and would be better?
Out of interest what is a good car vacuum based on personal experience and not a short term test by magazines or you tubers?

Don't think there is anyone that speaks highly of these type of vacuums, most double up their mains powered ones to use in their car. The consensus is these vacuums don't have the suction power as opposed to a bulky mains type. If you look at car/detailing forums I've yet to see a battery or 12v one recommended.
I bought the 24v version which is more powerful from amazon a few months ago and i wasn't impressed for the following reasons:
- It picked up most dirt in the car but the suction power didn't blow my mind.
- The battery only lasts 10 mins which really isn't adequate to clean a car properly
- They are quiet weighty and put a strain on the wrist/arms

This version is only 18v so i can only expect even poorer performance...

Thanks how about the hand held offerings from Dyson or Shark?
Mains power is the way to go!

I can’t fault my dyson, no cord which enables me to get around the car and plenty of accessories to sort out what needs to be sucked up
These are ok for quick cleans. Not really up to the job of clearing up trodden in crisps / biscuits etc if cleaning up after kids.
I'd look for an 18v Dustbuster for these jobs
