Black & Decker 1800W heat gun with two temperature settings: 300deg and 500deg

Been looking for a cheap heat gun to have a punt at fixing a flaky Xbox 360, £13.50 is pretty cheap! Good for other console fixers or DIY

I picked one up in store at the Cribbs Tesco Home Plus. Stupidly the shelf price is £24.99; to get one for £13.50 you have to do the Argos style catalogue and collect process, you can't simply take one off the shelf and go to the checkout.

im sure this works fine but my girlfriend is hot enough !!!

proper packing heat

Looks a good price, so heat added.

A question though -has anyone tried stripping a full size door with one of these? Debating the whole time vs money thing of doing it myself or paying for them to be dipped.

Just a report back on the xbox front, £13.50 well spent! Couple of minutes at 300deg has brought it back from the dead!

Not sure about door stripping but can vouch for the console fixing

I'm intrigued, what the hell are you doing to an Xbox with one of these?

I've been stripping door frames and I've found the more paint the easier it is as the paint bubbles up nicely ready to strip. 1 or 2 layers of paint doesn't bubble up as much and makes it harder. Starting the job can be very therapeutic, but can get tedious when the paint stops coming off so easily. I use a DeWalt 2000W variable heat with different nozzles.

Just for info, I brought the DeWalt DW340K 240V Hot Air Gun from screwfix they have at £22.34

Just to confirm, this is powered by the mains isn't it?

Yes, it'd need a bloody big battery otherwise!

is there no way to get free delivery now?
