Seriously £3.49 for this is a steal. I've sank nearly 100 hours into this game and still barely scratched the surface. It's grindy but unique to MMOs in that you are rewarded for exploring and tinkering - not just quest hopping. It's completely absorbing. Heat
Heat added but some of the reviews put me off - AFK grinding & P2W.

I also deceided againt a purchase because of this, even for £3.49.

It's free to play over the weekend. May as well try it if you're interested in finding out yourself, you don't have to purchase it.

My girlfriend plays this game - I tried it, didn't like the art style myself. Gameplay is more like Guild Wars than WoW, but still has it's own unique style to it. There is no requirement to AFK to grind, it can help because it's an option to do so, but then again it helps to spend extra time in WoW to grind manually, with some people chosing to spend their every waking moment in the game.

Pay 2 win I assume to win is from PvP? Everyone is PvE until you hit high level and then you have the choice to enable world PvP. It's optional and to be fair there is a heck of a lot of stuff you have to craft in the game that you simply can't buy with money from the store to have an advantage.
You also get a bonus for logging in for an hour every day, some of them are the 'pay 2 win' options, but of course are they really pay 2 win still if they're given free to people who play the game every day? maybe, maybe not.

Has no requirement to pay extra to enjoy it for what it is - and you probably won't be buying anything from the store if £3.49 is a hit for you either. Simple things like costume skins are very expensive up wards of £30 in most cases.

Still, good game if you enjoy the style of MMORPG it provides.

Thanks for your explanation.

I've heard from many sources, that you have to pay for extra inventory slots, which would be i.e. pay to win and for expensive costumes which give you extra bonuses?
I would be testing it, if I had the time this weekend.

Considering what LagunaLoire wrote it sounds like a nice game.

Try the free weekend man. This game isn't for everyone but I like it, and I normally get bored of MMOs quite quickly. You can purchase additional inventory space but I've gotten tons of inventory coupons from questing.

It's the sheer scale of the world and different stuff to do that keeps me coming back. This is a grindy MMO but the combat is interactive along the lines of Devil May Cry, Bayonetta etc. Not just WOW style click, attack, hotkeys. So I don't mind the grind because of this.

Having said that Ive barely spent any time in combat cos there's so much other stuff to do...
Less than four quid for all the MMO you can eat is a fantastic price.
I tried a few other MMOs before this as well as FF. I settled with this one. You can pay to progress faster or just carry on in your own time. I haven't paid any extra money into this game since purchasing nudging 600 Hours, I think all my CS hours combined won't beat this XD.
Still haven't revealed the whole map and I thought the Red Dead and GTA maps where big. The map changes with the seasons and you are never stuck for something to do, bonus quests which encourage you to put time into off quest tasks. After playing this I'm not holding my breath for Red Dead 2. If you want to power up this is one of the few games that will allow AFK (away from keyboard) and you can still do stuff. You don't have to bury extra cash into the game as you can craft most of the gear when you have enough XP.
Every day you login you get loyalty points which you can save up to buy items like experiance and combat buffs as well as extra inventory slots which you don't really need because you can easily pickup inventory slots through simple quests.I think the people behind this game have found a good ballance. You'll read a lot or see a lot of complaining by the youtube generation expecting immediate results but the whole point of the game is you have to earn it through playing. The GFX are quite something even by todays standards and they've just remastered all of the OST with a real orchestra. You can play single play or find/create a guild and get some friends together to speed up a lot of the processes. The more people that you can get together on this the faster thing can happen.
