This seems like a good price for this laptop, have never seen it lower than £499.

HP 14-dk0011na Full-HD Laptop

Spec:

  • Windows 10 Home 64
  • AMD Ryzen™ 5 3500U with Radeon™ Vega 8 Graphics (2.1 GHz base clock, up to 3.7 GHz max boost clock, 6 MB cache, 4 cores)
  • 35.6 cm (14") diagonal FHD IPS anti-glare micro-edge WLED-backlit (1920 x 1080)
  • 8 GB memory; 256 GB SSD storage
  • AMD Radeon™ Vega 8 Graphics; Dual speakers; HP Fast Charge; (1x1) Wi-Fi®; Kensington Mini Security slot™

Wasn't this the standard price? Seems like they jacked it up before black Friday and given a discount code! I may be wrong, but that's what I recall
Yeah. This isn't a special price for this kit. Expecting better for around this price later this week.

The cheapest this laptop has ever been for this spec is £449 with John Lewis (I just checked). It is back up to £499 with John Lewis which is where the confusion might be.
Looks like a good deal. I got this last year on offer for £449 (different model number but same specs). Decent laptop, have had no issues with it all.
I wonder if someone could tell me if this has a backlit keyboard please?

You`re correct, it was on here last month at £449 from JLP.
I don`t think they will price match because HP hasn`t got a high st. shop.

Sold by ebuyer at the time was £389 but with eBay £75 made it £315. Currently someone did post as a deal but at ebuyer’s new price of £349 without the code - search HUKD and you will find it.

Wondering if Ryzen 5 3500 8gb 256gb machines might hit £299 on BF....
Anyone recommend a low price gaming type laptop that would play Roblox / Minecraft etc.. not AAA games?

This would work just fine with most low end games like that. There’s even decent benchmarks for things like GTA V at low settings averaging 38fps for this processor.

Most of the intel laptops don’t have a dedicated graphics card at this price point so gaming is a bit poorer (if that’s your priority)

There was a detailed post by someone in a previous thread which suggested that specifically this 2019 processer, Ryzen 5 3500U, is excellent for such a purpose. Keep your eyes out, I’m sure one will drop to £299 for BF. As I said earlier got one for my son for the very same and it flies. The Ryzen 5 has a notably superior benchmark to the i7 in my laptop which is barely 2 years old. It flies at everything we’ve thrown at it so far.

Thank you
Stuck between this and a identical spec s340 (TN screen though) for £379. Does this laptop suffer from thermal throttling in the same manner as the last gen Ryzen HP laptops?
Great spec and HP build, however I will try and cobble a further discount and post back.
Didn't take me long.... £391.02 without much work at all and that's without even looking at other stacking options....
