This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

Looks like the Soundbox is part of Sky's Black Friday promotions this year. Website shows as £249 before you log in, but you can log in and get £189 or call in and get the offer.

Lower than the VIP offer of £199, so looks like a bargain if you're an existing sky customer without a Soundbox.

Has anyone actually got one? They seem quite big? I know the sound is probably tip-top but for the price......?
Would like to try this, but it looks like you have to pay for the cost of return within the 14 day cooling off period...any ideas what that cost would be? Looks quite hefty

I have a few of them. They are pretty awesome to be honest
Mine has developed an intermittent popping noise from the left side at just over a year old. Downloaded new update this morning and now waiting to see if it returns. Fingers crossed because I quite like this sound box.

They are very good for the price but bit of an unusual design. You need to have it on top of a cabinet or TV stand with clearance either side and it’s quite big height wise! If you don’t do that it really impacts the sound. It would work well if you have a wall mounted TV. I’ve got mine under a glass monitor raiser linked to a 4K monitor and a 4K HDR 5 port switch. Means I can get decent sound and picture in the office as hard to find a 4K 32 inch TV (plus wanted DisplayPort as well)

Might be worth getting in touch and see if it's still covered by the warranty

I few??? Honestly? That’s PROPER surround sound!!! I’m not an audiophile, so does this really out shoot a £100 LG one?? We have a nice big curved tv with ok-ish sound but I know it would benefit from some sort of ‘boost’.
awesome price when you consider it was developed by Devialet.

Ha ha in different rooms The underlying manufacturer are pretty good and big hitter in the sounds department. I liked it all being in a succinct box with all round sound. I got in on offer for £150 just as it came out. Works for me but may not for everyone.
Good deal! I've had one for about a year and it's perfect for the space it's in. Obviously no substitute for multiple speakers but does a pretty good job on movies and has a bass which is significantly better than soundbars of the same price. For the same effect, you'd probably have to spend more on a bar/sub combination.

I find the speaker a bit 'muddy' on music but I'm comparing to my other speakers which are typically much more expensive. A few things niggle at me, no input display or menu you can access as it's designed to be tweaked from the sky box. It uses the source channel (sports, movies) to determine how the sound should be optimised so if you like the idea of something totally hassle free, it's a huge positive but the lack of something like 'night mode' is annoying.

Thing is, every single speaker or speaker package under £500 has limitations and after loads of research I decided this was the best compromise for needs. Consider the Q Acoustics sound bases and similar bars (Polk) to see if they'd suit your set up better but I doubt anyone would be disappointed with the power and sound this has.

Is that the update from last year or is there something new?
Just been in touch with sky and they are sending a replacement out to me, just have to swap over at time of delivery so I'm very happy. Still don't know what the actual guarantee period is though, but its nice to see sky replace the box without any qualms.
Not sure about the release date of the update but it was named: SB100_.bin when downloaded.
Awesome piece of kit, had one since day one of release
Does this still provide boosted sound if you are just Watching normal telly, or only if watching throughthe skybox?

Is the sound that good? any opinions ?
I had one of these that wasn't compatible with either of my 2 LG tvs, so got rid of it and went for sonos. Good price tho

Bought one a few weeks ago for vip price of £199 so glad it’s not now 50 - 100 pounds cheaper. Really pleased with it delivers great sound especially with sky q. Does not show volume levels which is a bit annoying.
So......
Tempted........
This or Sonos beam?
I really like mine, massive improvement

If it had atmos I would buy unfortunately it doesn't. Good price tho
Didnt think much of a saving since £200 is crossed out above but £249 seems to be the usual price.

Anyone know if other speakers can be added or it is purely a one box solution (I ask as I have 2 fronts wall mounted and if could plug them in the back I might go for one (apologies if a totally stupid thing to say to those of you that know about sound)

Edit - ok igone that it has 2 HDMI ports on the back....does it have ARC?

Big? I’ve seen one on a sky stall in town and it’s quite small.

Just wanted to correct @jasonmcg that it does have night mode. Hit the '?' mark on your Q remote (bottom right), prrss select on 'Soundbox', go to 'sound mode' and you can select speech, late night, kids.

Late night mode will reduce the bass.

Not really it woudl keep sliding off the mantle.
All sound bars seem to be too tall to sit in front of LG oled
Had one, sent it back after 48 hours, sound quality didn't come close to matching my (sub £100) 10+ year old existing soundbar/woofer. Very disappointed.
mgk20/11/2019 22:05

....does it have ARC?

It doesnt - which I think rules it out for me....need the AmazonFireTV, PS4 Bluray player all to kick thorugh what I buy - I made the mistake with my existing setup when I didnt know about ARC

No does not support ARC. You have to have optical lead from back of tv to soundbox and then select that for all connected devices apart from sky box.

Yeah but with all due respect, you are the hulk! its gonna look smaller to you than us regular non gamma folk!
Trying to decide between this and the discounted Sony HT-X8500 for £249. The lack of ARC support on the Sky box is putting me off because I'd be constantly switching input sources to use Plex on my TV and my PS4. Would anyone recommend one over the other?

If under stand correctly though that means - I can either have the Optical in TV OR PS4 OR AppleTV - whereas ARC will automatically switch between them.

Currently I have a setup without ARC and therefore I only use the surround on Sky - connected via OPTICAL. The HDMI links the Bluray in the Cinema surround sound system. If I want AppleTV or PS4 I have to manually move the Optical cable.
Your message makes me think I may have been making a schoolboy error in setup?
Thanks for any advice

EDIT - dohh...figured out I get all my inputs through the surround sound if I put the optical in the TV rather than cosing one of the inputs as I had to date
