Black Matt Paint for Blackboards (180ml) @ Poundworld - No need to look for the plaster of paris/sanded grout to mix with acrylic to make a blackboard area at home after all.

They also have gold and silver paint for gates (guessing enamelised)

Most people have white boards to use with those markers that the kids use to get high

Does it pass the fingernail test.

Screeching time...X)

Not likely to find out as I'm using it on box framed canvas and then decorating with chalk pens..Something like thishttp://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/01/a4/6c/01a46c6cecaa23d896de71a1f6635f15.jpg

shop at my town called 'scooby doo' have been selling this for £1 for about 6 years lol

Jellybeans, I did one of those for my sons first birthday. For some reason I couldn't get on with the chalk pens so just used normal chalk. It looked ace! But you can just get the prints that look like chalk from sellers on etsy and similar.

Good deal op!

paid £3 for this the other week on EBay

How did you fix the chalk once you'd finished your design?

Hi Jellybeans - I live the idea of this - wanted to get my daughter a big chalkboard for her wall but I like the idea of just painting a big rectangular box canvas and hanging it in the wall - can you recommend anywhere good/cheap online to purchase a blank box canvas? Was thinking of getting one at least a metre in height. Thanks!

Jellybeans, I haven't sealed mine with anything, could probably use a clear spray paint sealer though.

Smeeble, I got my large box canvas from hobby craft, I think it was about £7

Which reminds me! They had clear spray lacquer/varnish knocking about in Aldi a few weeks back reduced to 49p! Now that would do the job perfectly.

Oh no!

how much space would one tin cover please?

Its definitely cheaper to make a nice size blackboard than it is to buy a big whiteboard where I live, so heat added.

Sorry Just seen your message and checked It makes no mention of coverage and I've still not used mine yet so can't say how it spreads
