As you can prbably guess by my profile pic, I ride a scooter. Any of these cheaper ones do just as good a job.

These are windproof neck tubes, they don't go around your head as a snood can. Scarf + hood = Snood. They are just for the neck.

Scooter.... :/ That explains why you don't need a decent snood. If however you ride a real motorbike like an S1000rr then you'll need to get something decent. Gets very cold...
Hot! Ordered. As already pointed out, those cheaper fabric alternatives don't hold up at continued speeds. Brrr!

Now looking for something to warm my hands, as my winter gloves only do so much, and it looks like I'll be biking through the winter this year...

If they don't go around your head, how do you put them on?
Snood?

What you really need...

is a Thneed!

I also ride a scooter, and I use a balaclava which I think is more warm than a neck tube

Hur hur
I have a Vespa px200 and I also have a ninja, u definitely need something like this when on a bike and not a scooter, great spot!

I ride all year and in all weather's with work, and my hands suffer most. Heated grips just can't do enough. I'd recommend Keis G501's. They're not cheap, and it's my only experience of heated gloves, so cheaper options may be just as well, but they're a sound investment.
