Blackadder's Christmas Carol: 'A Christmas Carol' Blackadder-style. Bet you can't guess who the Scrooge is? Dickens' classic tale of kindness, truth and virtue completely mucked up and ruined by having a member of the Blackadder family involved. Also Baldrick, of course, the man you can rely on to turn a Christmas dinner into a dog's dinner, as long as the dog isn't particularly fussy. Stuffed with deeply horrid people (many of whom are gigantically fat) and groaning with cartloads of seasonal bottom jokes, it manages to squeeze in not only a Victorian Black Adder but also his famous Elizabethan, Regency and Space Age relatives into a huge pie of entertainment that will satisfy all but the most discriminating viewers.

Blackadder - Back And Forth: It's New Year's Eve 1999 and Lord Edmund Blackadder and friends are gathered to celebrate the Millennium. Blackadder discloses he has built a time machine - and to prove it works he proposes a wager of £10,000 to anyone who cares to name an historical object for him to collect on his journey through time... Blackadder bids his friends farewell and steps into the time machine and he and Baldrick set upon a journey spanning centuries.

Thanks for this Nice find, great series, classic comedy ;-)

Voted hot, great price...

I've already bought some things today though, so I think I've spent enough for a few days

Great value at £25 if you don't already have it

It's a total must get

Not. Hot. Enough.

Nice. Been wanting this boxset for years and now it has even more goodness inside. Finally a fair price for this timeless series.

Hot and repped.

My daughter paid £28 for this boxset at Asda just before Christmas so even better value now. Still really funny even if they have all been repeated ad infinitum. Love the Corporal Punishment episode.

I thought it looked good and was going to buy it. However, sitting on the fence just now after reading reviews on Amazon - poor sound, poor picture, just straight transfer, no extras etc.
Better check out before buying (but still a great spot, JohnUK99)

Well... Virgin have just dispatched this item, less than 12 hours after ordering. Can't complain.

As for the transfer quality, how annoyed would you be if you had spent £60 on it and got less, like a friend of mine did, for the exact same quality.

Transfer quality hasn't been important to the BBC. Look at the Red Dwarf transfers. Sheesh!

I never noticed anything wrong with the quality of Red Dwarf (I have Just The Shows Vol. 1 & 2) :?

No problems with Red Dwarf picture quality here either.

Nice price, saves paying the postage at Tesco since they never seem to have it instore! BTW the vouchers I doubt will work as I believe they are for Virgin card holders..... tried one sometime ago and they cancelled my order

Ordered using my Virgin Credit Card and got 10% off but they appear to be out of stock at the moment. :x

Have to wait and see if they get more stock and if Quidco tracks.

Original Poster

Still listed as £25, with next cheapest price being £29.99 according to find-dvd.

Been meaning to buy the complete series for a while, bargain at £25
