This phone wont work straight out of the box, as you need to do various thing through Orange and the blackberry site to get the email functions to work (and mine still didnt). All this done over the phone, which u are charged for. I sent mine back and got a refund. It is quite expensive for a phone with few features when the email doesnt work on itGive it a miss.

So looks like a good phone, just dont buy it on orange?

Sounds like the guy reviewing it hasn't got a clue how to use or setup a BB.

You have to setup the info on the Rim server no matter where you get the phone from, you also have to have the BB bis added to your acc to allow it access to the Rim server (no matter where you get it from).

Also not all email acc's are supported, but that's down to the email servers rather than the network operator.

People need to do more research, these things don't work by magic !

Isnt a blackberrys primary function to be able to send and receive email?

It is, but not out of the box.

You have to spoof you're email acc on the Rim server and it's that server, not your own that sends you your mail.

You also have to have the bis element added to your acc to be able to access the Rim server with out it costing an arm and a leg in data costs.

A lot of webmail acc's aren't supported, but that's because they won't allow the Rim server to access them and has nothing to do with the network the phone on.

Hotmail and gmail are fyi... dont want people to think you cant get any email on these...

mine is dual provisioned for both bes and bis so i so get my work and hotmail email on the same device... i live by it!

Ah, but Gary, you know what your talking about.
Unlike the guy writing the review on Play. We should vet people with room temperature I.Q's. before letting them post things. . .

haha if only... but then that would take away all the people that post things like that that make me laugh every day!

Nice find!

Does anyone know how to activate (BIS) Blackberry Internet Service on Blackberry 8100 Pearl? I was on Tmobile. Now the contract finished long time ago and I am using as normal Pay As You Go handset. When I tried to activate on BIS website it says the PIN is invalid. Who should I contact Blackberry IS or Tmobile to be able to register on BIS? Also how can I get BIS service on Pay as you go?
