Blackberry 9300 (3G) Refurbished £116.90 (including £15 credit which can be used on their All you can Eat Data deal, possible £7.50 quidco on top). Best price BAR NONE!

Yes it's a refurb but generally this means the phone has been returned within 7 days and phone is unlocked (past experience dictates so).

Refurbished phones - from e2save website
Our deals come with a 'refurbished' mobile phone. This means you can get a great phone, in full working order, for even better value than if you bought a 'brand new' version..

What are refurbished phones?

Refurbished phones have been returned to us by customers who bought them and then returned them under our 7-day money back guarantee.
All these phones are fully inspected, tested and repackaged by our qualified engineers.
They all come with a 12-month manufacturer's warranty.

How are refurbished phones different?

A refurbished phone will come in a different box to the original.
The box will always include the handset, battery, charger and manual. We can't guarantee that any other accessories will be included.
There may be slight cosmetic flaws to a refurbished phone or its box - these will not affect the phones performance in any way.

Why exactly. People make these types of comments without qualifying them.

you do still get a warranty with this don't you?

How good is this as a phone, is it a worthy phone to get or is there better in this price bracket or worth a little more.

Just ordered. Thanks, hot from me

Good price, you need to select the 3 deal at the bottom of the page!

I have bought from e2save before and the phones have been as new and come with a full 12 month warranty. The last 3 i bought also came unlocked as well.

been using a refurbished '3' htc hero for the last year.
came to me in perfect condition, apart from the box you wouldnt tell it was refurbished.

should be able to unlock these for a quid too

Sounds like a good deal! Do you reckon they might come unlocked? if not Samisnake, where can you get them done for a quid? thx

Ordered, wanted a cheap phone and heard many good things about Blackberries so ordered. Just need to find a good cheap sim deal now for it.

Also at the Refub/New argument, people do know if they buy a mobile phone and it has a problem and they send it back to the manufacturer for an in warranty replacement that is what they get back as a replacement.100% guaranteed no way around it, even if you bitch moan gripe its all you get back.

So my logic is why pay the excess and take a gamble it works for the full year, just buy the refurb cheaper direct with the same warranty.

There's a seler on ebay called korter_gsm and he provides instructions and the unlock code for all Blackberry's and it costs 99p. I've used him about 10 times, email the IMEI, make and model with the ebay payment and he emails straight back with the code.

You need to have the bbm service activated - just need to contact your network to activate (think there will be a monthly charge roughly £5/month on most networks) unless you have already got it!

This is now getting confusing.

If I buy this blackberry (which I have). and I just stick a regular Sim in there what can I do and what can't I do?

If I pay this £5 per month bbm what extra's can I do.

Any idea where to find details of this for Vodafone?

Next question if I was to buy this

threestore.three.co.uk/dea…183

Would it work ok with the phone, or would I need this £5 ontop thing. And why would I need it.

Thanks jim.

basically you can us any sim no matter what company it just needs to have blackberry data plan thats all, probably £5ish a month but if youre on payg tmobile blackberry services cost like £20 for SIX months!

Three don't do any Sim only that includes BIS so you'd need to spend £5.

However until June 30th you get free bbm on pay as you go when you top up £15.

You also get 300,5000 texts and all you can eat data for that £15 so it might be worth taking advantage of that till the start of july anyway.

Okay, I'd like some clarification on how this works. I have to buy the phone and the £15.00 top-up at the same time, yes? And I choose the 3 network because that's the cheapest.

Now, I have a very good deal with Orange at the moment where I only pay for the calls I make (and can make as many calls as I like), and the cost per minute is very, very low. They don't offer this deal anymore (I originally took it out with them over 10 years ago), but have said that I can keep my current arrangement but add BB Messenger, Email, and Internet for £5 per month. This is exactly what I'd like to do (they'll send me a 3G sim once I've ordered the 9300).

So with regard to this £15 top-up, will I be sent a 3 network sim with £15 credit on it, which I can then simply take out of the phone and throw away once the £15 has been used, and replace it with my new 3G Orange sim? I mean, if I'm being forced to pay for £15 credit with 3 as part of the deal then so be it, but am I correct in thinking that once I've used that up I don't have to deal with 3 ever again?

I'm quite tired so hope I've explained all this correctly :-(

In a word....yes.
You've no need to even use the 3 sim credit up. The way it works with pay as you go phones is the networks subsidise the cost of them so naturally they will supply their own sim that they wish (and hope) you will use.
For example I have ordered this phone and have no intention of ever putting the 3 sim in the handset at all as I will simply put my Vodafone one sstraight in which is already on a Blackberry plan.

One thing worth doing is when you call Orange to request the 3G sim (I presume you must have a very old sim) get the customer service person to confirm again that you won't lose your old tariff and then make a note of their name and the time and date of the call just in case they try and sneak you on to a new plan.

Apparently you can still use the internet like normal without BIS (blackberry internet service). All you do is change the APN setting or something to your network providers one. I'm not sure if it works as I don't have a blackberry to try it on, someone might be able to though

You can still use internet with WiFi, you just can't use any of the BB services such as App World, Twitter, Facebook, BBM etc unless you've got a data plan for Blackberry.

Maybe, never tried.. but I know that latest app world doesnt connect untill it checks your network first or something, i remember reading it

I ordered this yesterday and had this email from them this morning -

Due to the current UK stock levels of this product we anticipate a small delay in dispatching your order, this delay should be no longer than 7 - 14 days.

Has anybod else had this or had anything else about when to expect delivery?

I had that too. Surely if they're refurbished handsets they would know how many they have!

Thanks, Jimmyboy.

I've spoken to three different people at Orange now (all on different dates) and they have all confirmed that my current deal will remain exactly the same just with the BB bolt-on as well. They've also confirmed that I can cancel the bolt-on at any time and things will go back to as they are now.

Regarding the £15 credit with 3, I think that since I'm paying for it I may as well use it :-)

Well, I've placed my order, so now to wait and see what happens.

what is better this phone or a htc wildfire?

Obviously going to be different for everyone but I have very recently given up my Wildfire as had enough of the batter life. I changed to a Blackberry 8520 but really want the 3G so have bought this now. After using the Wildfire for 6 months having to charge it so often was doing my head in. I now get a couple of days from a Blackberry. I do miss a lot of the apps though and the browsing experience on a Blackberry isnt great although the 9300 can now be upgraded to OS6 which is much better.
Pros and cons for both. The camera is better on the Wildfire for instance. The Wildfire address book would not sync with my car kit and the Blackberry does.
