Get the 16gb version of the blackberry playbook for just £149 (after quidco).

Seems a great price for a good tablet.

The £100 quidco is today only.

32gb and 64gb versions also avaliable for effectively £229 and £309 respectively after cashback.

Playbook is a good tablet.....have had one since May.....just waiting till the Febuary update....

£250? no deal.

anyone know if currys are good for paying out on quidco?

Comment deleted as I had read the price as £250 not £150. Heat added now as that's a decent enough price

very good price to be honest

I'm assuming cashback is still valid if collecting?

Yes the cashback will still be valid.

"For Reserve and Collect purchases, please keep your receipt number and the reservation number as this will be required if a cashback claim is needed."

I'm tempted. This is cheaper than the US sale price, if you exclude VAT.

It is a flawed tablet, but there's an update due on the 17th of Feb which will add native email and calendar, and support for android apps.

How reliable is the cashback? Would it be better to get it delivered so you could return it via DSR if it doesn't track?

GBP149 is a great deal for anyone who didn't get a touchpad.

How do you get the 100pounds cashback? do you just click on the link from quidco?

Hot!

If only I hadn't just bought a tablet

Shame I'm hungering for at least 10 inches. Good price though.

Stonking Deal for a great tablet. Touchpad prices on a device that at least will continue to be supported. Have the android beta and works well.

many hots.

is there a chance quidco might not track?

hot! reserved one for myself 150 pounds off all of em but much more worth it on the 16gb ones. too bad no 3g support

Cold - not an iPad.

Kidding... voted hot - fair price.

Are these dual core

cold no keyboard

Never had blackberry phone, so useless to me

Can anyone explain why this needs a BlackBerry phone to work as I have been reading..I just dont get it?

komi

Are these dual core

Dual core 1ghz with one gig of RAM if I remember correctly. The sale price in the states is $199+tax in most stores. If you buy direct from blackberry you can get it for $189.99 delivered and ovoid tax (£122 roughly). If you add VAT to that then you end up with a very similar price to this deal. They are flying off the shelves at that price in the states so I doubt they will fall cheaper than that. I would want to wait for quidco to pay out, though. I'm sure that they will but £250 is a lot for a playbook if you browser doesn't track the cookie!

unreality

Only as a bridge for 3g internet.

Voted Hot. Ordered for home delivery. Just hope Quidco tracks!

The price on the site is £249.00 not £250, posted price needs fixing.

Hot if quidco caskback is 100% guaranteed.

Blackberry phones use better encryption that other smartphones so you are supposed to use your playbook with the phone for security. Blackberry market this as a business tablet, hence the security. You can tether it to the wifi hotspot from any phone, though. I think it syncs calanders etc if the pictures on the website are anything to go by.

So just to confirm... if I reserve and collect, would Quidco still pick this up automatically or would I need to submit a manual claim?

If they were to pay me £250 to take it off their hands I MIGHT consider it.

hmm... only 7 inches. Heat but at 10inches this would be much more desirable...

Ignore.

To guarantee that Quidco will track, I always use another browser, I use Firefox as Chrome is my usual, and delete browsing history first. You can check whether Quidco has tracked by going into your Quidco account after making the transaction and clicking on Quidcare support > Create a cashback claim > select the retailer, which is Currys in this case from the dropdown then click on "I confirm" then check that the transaction is listed. N.B. This doesn't guarantee it will pay out but if it has tracked.

Incomplete tablet with no built-in email client, poorly implemented!

This is a good deal if you don't mind waiting a while for the cash back. Recently ive noticed Quidco to be quite slow of course it depends on the retailer, but ive been waiting over 4 months now for cashback from Tesco, Expedia and Zavvi.

Quidco payment speed for Currys

21% paid within 60 days
51% paid between 60 to 90 days
28% paid between 90 to 180 days

any details what new features will be in new updates?

"add native email and calendar"

HAHAHAHAHA

Just bought an iPad but am very tempted to buy this but not sure if I really need it lol

On paper this looks a great deal. Prices in the US have been slashed so I expect this will end up at around the £150 mark soon anyway. Reading various forums it appears that RIM have delayed updates for the playbook and my main concern is that they will ditch the format altogether and the promised update will be shelved leaving this like the HP touchpad.

Anyone know if anybody has been able to get android running on this, not just the apps but the OS?

Confused with quidco cashback on this. I reserved one of these a few hours ago and have now got an email to say quidco has tracked for it. However, when I look at the quidco tracking details it shows the purchase amount as 207.50 (so that's the ex-vat amount) and the earnings as 3.11

So that looks like it's just tracked as the standard 1.5% discount, not the £100 cashback. Is that what I should expect at this stage?

IMO it's definitely not worth purchasing the playbook unless the £100 cashback is a certainty, and even then I'm still tempted to wait a bit longer and see what happens.
