For the 2nd year running, Aldi are launching a Gin Festival - starts instore & online from Sunday 26th May - just in time for a Bank Holiday Monday tipple

As part of this, they are launching 3 brand new flavours to their range, 2 x 70cl full-strength gins including Rhubarb costing £19.99 & one of their excellent gin infusionist liiquers - the Raspberry & Elderflower Gin Liqueur costing £9.99 - all of which seem cheaper than comparable gins

All of the flavours sound amazing BUT the one that has me most excited & gincredulous is their new Liquorice & Blackcurrant Gin - I am REALLY REALLY hoping that this has the taste of Black Jacks - will save me having to create my own sludgy disgusting looking home made infusions if it does

Aldi describe it as a combination of blackcurrant and coriander flavours, sweetened with liquorice, citrus and almond - so possibly not - genuinely think it will be a marmite flavour (now there's a thought) - you'll either LOVE it or hate it - let us know what you think

I can’t wait to try these
Blackcurrant & Liquorice Gin, Nom.
Need to get me some of that. We're in deepest, darkest Cornwall on holiday the day it starts. Need to get some friends / family on the case to get me some.

Aww have a fab time, it's where I grew up
I'm looking forward to managing to grab a liquorice gin and maybe one or two others

I've not had a glass of it yet with mixer, just opened and a quick taste and on that basis, I would agree..... BUT am reserving judgement until I have a proper glass of it.

For anyone that is interested, their seville orange and persian lime is VERY nice and I would say nicer than Tanqueray Seville Orange

Those reviews are spot on. Very disappointed with it. Struggling to tell difference between it and a standard London Dry Gin

Agreed, no taste of either flavour, very disappointing indeed!
